I had an incredible experience at this cozy, family-owned French restaurant in DC! From the moment I walked in, the charming and beautifully designed interior transported me straight to France. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed evening out.

The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was prepared with care and authenticity. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. The drinks were really good, complementing the meal beautifully.

Beyond the food and décor, the overall vibe is what truly makes this place special. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a customer.

Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

A Great Rooftop Spot!!

I love coming here on weekends. The rooftop view is amazing and makes the whole experience special☺️

My favorite dish is the bavette steak. It’s always cooked just right and tastes delicious. The chocolate cake is a perfect dessert

If you want a nice place with good food and a great view, this is it. Highly recommend!

Experience: The tables on the upper level that seats two people were very, very small. There is one long couch on a wall where mini tables are placed to fit as many as possible in that area. It was so small that I put my bag between the person next to me, and there was no space left. Additionally, we ordered our appetizers and main course meal, but when it came, we barely had space for the plates. This place needs bigger tables.
Additionally, when we ordered the NYE’s meal online, the menu contained several items, plus a champagne glass was included in the price. When we arrived, the menu was cut down in half, and they no longer offered champagne as advertised. I asked the waiter, and he said he had to “check with the manager” but never got back to us. I was already frustrated with the sitting situation and did not want to extend my stay. I felt ripped off for the lack of transparency. They advertised a great menu and a nice deal, but they came short when it was time to deliver it.
Food: The food was good, nothing special. You can see it in my photos. We had lamb and beef as the main course.
Service: The place was beautiful, and the service was good. The waiter checked on us to ensure we did not need anything. He was polite and attentive.

Overall, we paid $250 for a dinner for two, and we did not receive what we expected as advertised from Baby Shank. Would I recommend it to my friends?…… No. For the lack of transparency and tiny tables(for two)

The food was delicious. The lamb rack cooked to perfection and the risotto very creamy. I had a blackberry julep and an espresso martini and both had the perfect mix of alcohol. The bartender was also very knowledgeable and attentive.

Visited for Restaurant Week and had a fantastic time. The staff was incredible and very attentive, our server Javier treated us so well. All of our drinks were creatively crafted and delicious. And the food? Perfectly cooked, the risotto was definitely a highlight of the plate. Highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Beignets.

I went to Baby Shank for brunch on a Sunday, and was very impressed with the entire experience. The venue has a range of different spaces to dine in… There is seating downstairs, upstairs and a very cute and cozy rooftop/deck area which is covered during the colder months.

As it’s a relatively new location that many people are buzzing about, I decided to make an early reservation to enjoy the full experience & I’m so glad that I did. The service was great, and the food was good. My burger was made at the perfect temperature for me… And word to the wise, as it’s a French restaurant… Maybe opt for the menu selections that are more “French”. The chicken and waffle was not the best I’ve had.

Needless to say, the bottomless mimosa options were truly bottomless!!! Yayyyy… We were brought a carafe for the table – which I really liked vs. having to flag down our sever when champagne flutes are getting close to empty.

Missed the mark is putting it lightly. I went to Baby Shank during restaurant week for a friend’s birthday. It took over an hour to be seated even though we made a reservation days in advance. Though I had no issues with my food, most everyone else at the table did. The steak was overcooked, nearly unable to be cut. The pasta was extremely spicy even though that was not indicated on the menu. When reordered without the spice, the pasta was completely bland and lacked any type of flavor. The manager was completely ineffective in remedying our terrible experience. His solution was to offer us free drinks which in my opinion is just a slap in the face. His response lacked empathy and he’s clearly missing qualities of a good leader. I would not recommend and I won’t be returning.

I was so excited to eat here. But was highly disappointed. I had a 6pm reservation, and i received my entree two hours later. The restaurant was very unorganized and regardless of what other tables were getting, i can’t understand how ppl who sat down way after me, received their food , ate and paid. While i still waited for my lamb to arrive. I want to thank Yab our waiter who was very understanding and even offered us a free drink. The food was okay, nothing WOW me personally, But if i had to highlight anything It would be the Caesar salad.

I decided to drop by Baby Shank in the DuPont area on one of my solo nights out to have a couple cocktails at the bar. I’ve been there for their roof top brunch a couple of years ago but let me tell you…I had so much fun with the staff and management team that night. The service was great but the vibes of the bar team, host and manager was even better. Here are a couple of tasty and aesthetically pleasing cocktails Taylor made for me that night. What a blast!!!! Cheers….

✨️ Rack of lamb: Tender and so juicy
✨️Dessets were both awesome: Creme Brulee & Chocolate cake
Between the sushi & the lamb this is a must try in my book from those items alone. Can’t wait to come back here! Bartender and staff are kind and attentive, rooftop patio area is so cute and aesthetic. Clean overall and the food and drink quality is great. – insta @ SpicyAivy
