We had dinner at Pulcinella Ristorante in Newbury Park last night, the new spot that took over the former Cedros location. It was a great experience from start to finish.

The service was excellent. Attentive, warm, and well-paced without being intrusive. You could tell the staff cared about getting things right, which goes a long way.

The food was outstanding. I had the mushroom risotto, rich and well-balanced. My wife ordered the veal scaloppini, which was tender and beautifully prepared. Our kids had the chicken piccata and a seafood pasta dish, and both cleaned their plates, which says everything.

What stood out to me is that we’re in a relatively sleepy part of Thousand Oaks, where high-quality restaurants aren’t always easy to find. Pulcinella hits the mark. The menu, execution, and overall experience feel intentional and elevated, without being pretentious.

We went as a family this time, but we’ll definitely be back for date night. It’s the kind of neighborhood restaurant you want to support because it raises the bar for what dining out here can be.

Highly recommend giving it a visit and supporting a local business that’s clearly doing things right.

Omg, this place was amazing! The food was just out of this world. We began with the bread that was served with this amazing olive oil dip with Parmesan, and whatever else was in it. Went onto the calamari appetizer, not the fried calamari, but the calamari in the amazing olive and caper sauce oh my gosh, it was so good but the best part was the special we had. The chicken. Milanese. One of the best I ever had. And the presentation was amazing. I can’t wait to go back and only can hope that that is the special again. It was beyond amazing. Definitely enough for 2 with the appetizer. We had the house super Tuscan, which was also very good. Highly suggest you visit this amazing restaurant.

Very hard small seats, small tables. Food just ok for my wife. I asked if they could make veal saltimbocca he said yes but $3.00 extra for the ham. Well they did not have a clue, no ham but some cheese and a gravy. Pasta loaded with olive oil all over the plate. A disaster for me with so many great Italian restaurants in our area.

Superb, authentic Italian. We had the Potato Leek soup, Pork Chop, and Butternut Squash Ravioli. For dessert, we had a Tiramisu, Pistachio Soufflé, and a special Pistachio Cheesecake. Each decadent! Excellent service, relaxed vibe. Cool owner.

Food was blah and simply not worth the price we paid. I don’t know where these 5 star reviews came from.

We ordered the meatballs with the spaghetti and they were rock hard, bland and didn’t feel like they were fresh, probably frozen. Even the spaghetti felt store bought.

Waiter was nice enough to comp for the dish, but we will not be coming back. Unfortunately, after eating the food, I got severe cramps and the food went right through me. The wine was average and the amount they poured was small. The atmosphere was OK but again for the price we paid it should have been better especially the location.

First up….wine list had nothing about the wine other than type. No vineyard listed. Huge red flag. Wine was cheap. Ordered meatball appetizer. Crossing was stale. Rock hard and off tasting. Meatball was tough and bland. Tiny portions, which is wouldnt mind if it tasted good. It didnt. Salad was meh. Chicken picatta bland and tough. 2/10 wouldn’t come again.

After seeing the write up in the Westlake Village Living Facebook Page, I added Pulcinella Ristorante to my list of places to visit. I went for an early dinner Saturday and enjoyed two of the items on their Antipasti Menu: The Caprese Salad and the Arancini (swapping the listed Arribiata Sauce for Vodka Sauce). Both those + the complementary fresh baked bread and pesto were delicious. And the service was welcoming and attentive. I will be back!
