I woke up this morning craving a homestyle breakfast… The only issue is I am staying at Harrah’s Cherokee for the weekend. I remembered hearing about the Selu Garden Cafe and decided to give it a try.

The atmosphere is open and airy, it is well lit, and even as the restaurant fills up, noise is not an issue.

The service is on point… From the greeters to the servers, and even the cleanup people, everyone is smiling and seems to really enjoy the work they’re doing.

The menu is not so extensive, in fact it is a single page and clearly explains each dish… I opted for the buffet and I am glad that I made that choice. You can get eggs made to order, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, and pastries.

For anyone who gambles and has a weird sleeping schedule, you know the importance of having good food and an excellent cup of coffee. This restaurant will help you get that morning energy with a happy tummy!

Overall a great place. Don was a great waiter. Honestly, the BLT had way too much bacon but I am sure others love that. I took most of it home for the dog. Hubby had breakfast and he said it was a decent breakfast. We sat in the back with a great view of the creek. Would recommend trying this cafe

We had the breakfast buffet! It was a bit small on selection, but the food was good. They have an omelet station and the chef was smiling and friendly. Nice selection of fresh fruit. The bacon was great and they kept it stocked. Our server had a health scare and the EMT’s were called in…hope he is okay! Other servers stepped in to keep us updated with the drinks and coffee. This was overall a good experience and for $25. – how can you go wrong! We’ll do this again!

I made a reservation for 7am but there wasn’t a wait time either way yet. The food and service were great. Our server refilled our coffee and checked on us to make sure we were all good. We ordered the Soco Omelette with a biscuit and fruit. The biscuit was so fluffy and soft. Also ordered the pancake stack which was alright. Due to unforeseen circumstances the buffet was closed so I hope next time it’s open for us to try.

We eat here for breakfast every morning when we stay at Cherokee Casino. They have excellent service and the omelettes are great! Plus their coffee is wonderful! The service can be slow sometimes because they get slammed every morning, but we’re there to relax so we don’t mind waiting since we know it will be a good breakfast. Pro tip: make a reservation for breakfast, you will have a much better experience since the little shop at the entrance is not an ideal place to wait with 30 other people that didn’t make a reservation.

This hidden gem is a great way to start your day if staying at the casino hotel. Located on the ground level close to the lobby and Starbucks. The reason for not getting a full 5 stars is the cost of the buffet/bar… $25 for the small selection of foods is a bit much in my opinion. Our first day we ordered direct from the menu and food was fantastic. We will most likely avoid the bar for future visits.

I remember coming to Selu to enjoy the breakfast buffets. Went again and seems that the prior charm is gone. The cost is now $24.99 with no juices. The selection now is limited. The coffee is watery.

The waitress that was assigned to our table probably was going through a rough day. Her service, her attitude and speed were off.

The bright side was chef assigned to prepare the omelettes. He was doing a fantastic job.

Thanksgiving Day brunch was DELICIOUS!! They had an omelet station and breakfast items, a huge charcuterie spread and a full Thanksgiving menu with turkey, ham and all the traditional sides and desserts. Will definitely be back for breakfast!

We decided to order our food rather than going to buffet. The food was delicious, seasoned well and fruits were all fresh! My husband and I cleaned our plates The server, Christina, was attentive! She is a great server!

If you are coming to the resort, do your due diligence. There are many restaurants here & reservations go quick. Mostly the early slots as the average age here is probably 55…We tried Selus on a lark, & happily, there was a 10 min wait despite having no reservations available.

Back in the day, this was the old Paula Deen Kitchen. The decor looks like it has a fresh coat of paint but the space otherwise looks the same.

I got the pecan sweet cream pancakes, the Man got the breakfast bar. The Man was underwow’d & put off by the price. If you are seriously into eggs your way, get it because that looked great.

I got the pecan sweet creme pancakes & oh, was it too much. Too much sweet, too much yummy, & way too much on the plate. I couldn’t finish…ugh…

Our waiter hustled to every table & more than earned his tip. The server we have the next day was not good. Reserve a table when you get there. This place closes in the afternoon.
