The food is good, but that’s about the only compliment I can give. The place feels like a dive bar, especially in the winter; despite the door being closed for the last ten minutes, there was still a strong draft coming from somewhere. The drinks are also very small and served in disposable plastic cups rather than glasses.

I really like the Mario’s in Shadyside, but I just didnt find this one’s food to be nearly as good. Its disappointing, as this is a closer location. It’s a small little pub, and maybe they have an entirely new kitchen staff. I can only hope that it gets better. I still havent tried the location in the South Side, but the food is great at their “Eastside” location.

My boyfriend and I went here before a concert. The food came quickly and hot. The portions were worth what you’re paying (besides wings). The drinks were good pours and our server/bartender was so sweet and attentive. My concern with service wasn’t the person waiting on us and the rest of the restaurant, but the other 3/4 bartenders standing behind the bar doing nothing. Only one low top available which we didn’t mind, but more options would be nice. There’s not much space in the building anyway. They started playing music from the concert which definitely improved the overall experience. I would recommend trying this place!

Went here post COVID when it was more of a restaurant than a bar and was pleasantly surprised! We had been to the Shadyside location and were less than impressed but the food here was fresh, the drinks were good and the waitstaff was attentive! She was even super flexible about our group moving tables and allowed us to all get separate checks. The shot pitchers are a little expensive for what you get but the ambiance makes up for it! Would recommend for a quick bite in Oakland!

Best time to go to Mario’s is post 7. The wait staff is really good and helpful. The last time I was here they let me make my own variation of a cocktail which is a big thing for a bar to do!
The food was delicious too. I especially loved the curly fries and the chicken wings! Among the drinks, the whiskey sour is a must try if you enjoy something tangy and are a whiskey fan! And I forgot to tell you the best part, it is considerably cheap too!

Decent draft beer selection. The food was really good I had a Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries. The bathrooms and bar area were clean. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. I’m glad something good went in where Peter’s was.

All locations are great! I always order the same thing and it’s delicious every time. The Pittsburgh Steak salad. They clearly marinate it in something for hours because every bite is flavorful. I thought it was just me, but every coworker I bring there ends up loving the salad too. Which is reasonably priced at like $11.
