I’ve been coming to DP Dough in Storrs for years and it’s still one of those places I make a point to stop at whenever I’m in the area. If you like calzones, this place is hard to beat. The variety alone is impressive — there are so many different combinations that there’s always something new to try. The taco calzone is always a hit, and honestly most of them are. This last visit we got a steak calzone and the loaded tots, and both were great.
One thing I’ve always liked about DP Dough is that it’s perfect late-night food, especially being right near UConn. It’s mostly a grab-and-go/takeout style setup, but they’ve added a texting system where they text you when your order is ready, which is actually really convenient so you’re not just sitting there wondering if your food is done.
The only downside is that they don’t open until 4pm, but they stay open really late, which makes sense for the college crowd.
Overall though — 10/10. Great food, tons of calzone options, and it’s one of those places I’ll always stop at when it’s on the way home.

my friends had a fine experience with their food, however we waited over 30 minutes for these “garlic parm sticks” that were literally just plain dough. I ate a few pieces with the garlic butter (I was hungry), in the future I would definitely not order in store and probably wouldn’t get this again.

I’ve eaten the cheese sticks before ( a long while ago) and DP dough must have changed them, for the worse. The one on top is garlic parm sticks and they were tasteless tbh. Both orders were also significantly smaller than I expected, especially for the price.
I did also try some dp dunkers (pretty much chicken nuggets) and those were pretty good. I hope their calzones are a better taste and value than these.

First time ordering here, was so hungry fr. Driver call me saying, he was here, I said where? He told me that I had walk to his car to pick my order up, I said you can’t deliver? You see, I was under the assumption he was gonna deliver as I chose the deliver option, not pickup. Then his sorry ahh went on to say that it was store policy not to exit the vehicle

I ordered a steak and cheese calzone for myself and the End Zone for my husband, both with the works. They tasted great, and the texture was soft. I can’t wait to try the other items on the menu. A while back, I tried the cheese bread, and it was pretty good, too. They have a hard working team there.

DP Dough has become unaffordable – for a single calzone after taxes, fees, tip, and delivery it is 18$. Over my 4 years here the price has climbed and climbed and with how expensive the world is right now neither myself nor my friends can justify the insane prices. I love DP dough, even had my birthday party with DP dough before which is why this is so much worse. If they lowered the prices back down they’d get so much more business because they are catering to a generally broke demographic.

Called in a order young lady said it would be about 25 minutes for 2 calzones and 2 orders of sticks
I get there 40 min later orders not ready told me it’s gonna be another 40 min. Asked if there’s was something he could do. They grabbed manager he stated it’s going to be about 15 min possibly but could be up to an hour
Will never come here again for food was outrageously long wait Time for 4 small items
Very unacceptable.
They want you to wait over an hour for 2 calzones
If you cannot keep up the promised time you give customers maybe you should call and tell them
And not tell me someone’s else’s orders more important than mines.

Maybe my expectations were too high. I had an ex boyfriend from probably 15 years ago who ordered DP Dough for himself when we were at a college party and was cheap and didn’t get me anything. And I was also a broke college student and didn’t have money for it back then. So out of spite to my ex boyfriend, I have wanted to try DP Dough for a very long time. I had a job last week very close to Storrs that made me say hmm, I think I have to try it now.
Ordered over the app. I chose 2 different options for takeout for my dad and I that were vegetarian options that both had ricotta in them. The app worked great. Got there to pick up, only 2 young women employees in the store. Not super friendly atmosphere nor very inviting. It’s ok, I’m not there for customer service. Got home almost an hour away, neither one had ricotta. I chose these 2 because they had ricotta and the veggie selection I wanted. They were overfilled with mozzarella but that was absolutely not what I wanted. Slim pickings for the veggies in them too. Very small serving for a calzone.
Overall, this would do the trick for a drunk meal which I’m sure college students love them for but if you want accurate or a large portion with friendly service, that doesn’t exist here. I definitely felt happy I hadn’t missed anything knowing this was what my ex ate that night when I sat there jealous and hungry
