I’ve been coming to this Hungry Howie’s location in Shelby Township for over 10 years, and I can honestly say the experience has been consistently outstanding — largely because of the manager, Dylan.
Dylan has been there for about 8 years, and he is the definition of exceptional customer service. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted with a genuine smile, great conversation, and someone who truly cares about his customers. He always asks how I’m doing and makes the visit feel personal rather than transactional — something that is very rare these days.
The food is always fresh, the pricing is fair, and the service is fast and professional. You can immediately tell this location is well-run, and that starts with strong leadership. Dylan is a tremendous asset to Hungry Howie’s, and his dedication absolutely shows in the quality and consistency of the experience.
In a world where great service can be hard to find, this location continues to exceed expectations. If you’re anywhere near Shelby Township and want great food paired with top-tier service, this is the place to go.

As a dasher, I had a very pleasent experience on New Years Eve with the night staff! So pleasent and friendly and helpful! They offered me an extra bag, and they even helped me carry my orders to my car. Great customer experience, they even dealt with a not so happy customer call (one of my dashes) and handled that excellent. Great job and thank you for such a great experience while dealing with an overwhelming amount of orders. Happy New Years!!

Awful!!!! The pizza was overcooked and the bread was over cooked. It almost seemed as if the bread was sitting around and they reheated it because it was dried out and barely any cheese on it. The pizza barely the toppings the way they cut the pizza .extremely salty and did not taste very good. I would not recommend this pizza to anyone. I only gave this a 1 star cause I had to. If were up to me I wouldn’t have given that. Very disappointing. We couldn’t eat the rest we had to throw it in the garbage.

Ordered a month ago. They forgot 2 items with my delivery, called them and they stated they would refund my card. The pizza was folded in the corner and stuck to the box.
Never got the refund after waiting a few days, called back and they said on my next order to just call us. Ordered today on the app, i’ve been on hold for 40minutes. App hasn’t updated still stuck on “MAKE” they’re clearly NOT open today.
So now they took my money, have been waiting for an hour an half, and now have to call tomorrow so they can refund me and thats if they answer. This location is a joke

The last several times we have ordered from this location we have had the pleasure of dealing with Dylan and, what a pleasure it was! He absolutely exemplifies hospitality and customer service in an industry that has fallen by the wayside a bit in the last few years. He is friendly, accommodating and helpful. The food is always great when he is doing the quality checks. The only thing I would like to be improved is that the salads can be inconsistent. Sometimes you get big hunks of tomatoes, and onions and sometimes there are only a few small dices etc. but, ultimately it just proves that the salads are made fresh and not pre packaged so I’ll deal with it. Keep up the good work Dylan!

You guys need to hire more staff or close down. The poor overworked dude on April 22 at like 7:30 am had no staff and was rude with us. We were about to order a pizza and he yelled at us that he was by himself and we needed to wait. It was disrespectful and I feel bad for the man.

What happened to the quality?!
We’ve ordered here 1-2 times a week for years now. It’s almost embarrassing how much we came to love the quality of your pizza. Recently, though? Not so great, to say the least.
The quality has been abysmal. Last night both of our pizzas had rock hard crust that was HUGE compared to normal. You completely ignored our selections for flavored crust to leave both completely plain, rock hard and burnt. The toppings were on 3/4 the pizza, it wasn’t fully cut, the bread didn’t have nearly any butter/parm despite ordering “extra”. Our kind note that’s always followed (in regards to the bread) was ignored, which is becoming a routine thing it seems despite the simple request. To top it off, as we were handed the pizza someone was told to turn down the oven. It sure would have been nice if they did that before they haphazardly made our pizza.
It was like our order was half read and done by someone who was blindfolded. There is one crew that works here that is amazing, led by one specific worker. They make me want to eat pizza here every single day. However, recently, and specifically last night (4/27/23), I literally threw out a full pizza worth of pizza and bread. Hard, disappointing, and an overall terrible experience.
Considering what an order total typically comes out to in terms of cost these days, it shouldn’t be too much to expect basic attention to detail and being given a reasonable quality item. Lately that hasn’t been happening, and until that changes I can’t recommend that anyone continue to come here.
I feel bad writing a bad review at our favorite pizza place, but I’m hopeful that with proper attention and care that the quality and standards can return to what the community has come to expect from your establishment.
We’ll give it another shot in the future and I’ll update my review if things get better. This was once the best Hungry Howie’s in the area. I’m hopeful that things can turn around. Time will tell.
