Phenomenal.
FLAVOR bomb!

First time trying Cambodian cuisine and wow — totally impressed. Flavor is honestly getting harder to find lately, but this place delivers BIG on flavor and especially on spice. They actually have spice levels from 2 all the way up to 15 (yes, fifteen ). I ordered a level 5 and my mouth was definitely on fire — in a good way. Next time I might go even hotter because the heat didn’t overpower the flavor, it enhanced it. Solid vegan options .

My husband tried the Cambodian pho, which was a totally new experience for us since we’ve only ever had Vietnamese pho., Super comforting, really well balanced. Also huge shoutout to our server — phenomenal service from start to finish. The restaurant itself is adorable too, with handmade art pieces and even beautiful purses imported from Cambodia for sale. Casual vibe, not fancy, but the food, spice, and service absolutely make it worth coming back. First Cambodian experience = a success. We’ll definitely be back for more .

I was surprised to walk in and only see a few people here eating, usually that’s not a good sign, but I was pleasantly surprised once the food arrived. It was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The server was nice although I wish she would have checked on us a little more often and picked up our empty plates while she was there. All in all the food itself would bring me back here. I think it’s a good place for carry out.

Apsara Asian Restaurant in Avondale is a true standout, offering some of the best Cambodian/Khmer food we’ve had in Arizona with a warm, homey atmosphere that treats every guest like family.

Exceptional Appetizers: The Apsara Beef Sticks are a legendary must-try, marinated in a flavorful lemongrass blend having a unique taste you won’t find elsewhere. The Thai Crispy Wings and Angel Wings—stuffed with ground pork and lemongrass—are the “crispiest wings ever”.

Standout Entrees: For a deep dive into authentic flavors, the Amok Fish (coconut custardy catfish steamed in a banana leaf) and the Cambodian Lemongrass Soup with beef rib offer incredibly rich and complex flavor profiles.

Their Pad Thai and Pad Siew are some of the best in the Valley, juicy meats and perfectly textured noodles that never disappoint.

Mango Sticky Rice, the perfect ending to an “epic meal”.

First off I was very surprised that this restaurant had such a high rating. My friends and I really wanted to have a nice Cambodian meal, My wife & I lived in SE Asia together for 12 years and she is from that area. My friends just got back from a Cambodia trip and we’re looking forward to this place. To be very honest the food although it looks amazing was a disappointment to my wife & I, the flavors were not very bold, the curries were watery and not very tasteful, both the fried rice and white rice was under cooked and chewy, the calamari was rubber and very chewy. The best things were the soups, the bowls of different meats & noodles and the Satay starters . Even the Thai tea they serve was very watered down. Unfortunately it was a very disappointing food experience and we will not be going back. It was also a bit on the expensive side for a lunch we paid approx $239 with tip for 4 people.

3/5 ⭐️ — Decent but not memorable

I recently stopped by for dinner after seeing the many postive reviews, and I’d say my experience landed somewhere in the middle. The restaurant itself has a nice, cozy atmosphere with décor complimenting the culture.

The food, however, was just okay. I tried the gyoza, beef skewers, lemongrass wings, and other items — which were perfectly edible, but didn’t really stand out. The flavors were a bit muted, and everything could’ve used a little moresomething. Portions were fair, though, and the presentation was clean.

Service was passable — our server was polite but seemed a bit distracted, and our drinks took a while to arrive. Nothing major, just not particularly attentive.

Overall, it’s fine if you’re in the area and craving some Asian comfort food, but it’s not a place I’d go out of my way to visit again. Solid enough for a casual meal, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression.

We got Phnom Penh noodle and Mee Ka Tang and we really love these two dishes so much. They were well seasoned and not too sweet at all. They were just right. Tasted like your Cambodian aunty would make we say. We will be back for sure.

Staff was super nice. I got the pork pad thai, a panang curry, and a vietnamese coffee. everything was good except the panang curry. The flavor was shallow and flat. panang is normally a curry that is bold and has powerful flavor. This was more like spicy soup without much panang flavor at all. I would get the pad thai again, would not get the curry again. the coffee was delicious and refreshing

We started with the Crab Rangoons, which had a flavorful, creamy filling but lacked the expected crunch. The chicken Pad Thai (medium spice) was well-prepared with tender noodles, though a bit too tangy for our taste. The highlight of the meal was the Panang Curry with chicken—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced, it delivered deep, satisfying flavor in every bite. Even though we arrived close to closing time, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and never rushed. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, with standout curry and solid service. We’d happily return, especially for another helping of that delicious Panang Curry.

Nice find for some curry. Not messing around with the spice level. I enjoy spicy food so the sign of no refunds for spicy food was less of a warning and more of a challenge. I can honestly say that get the medium to make it enjoyable without unnecessary suffering. The hot, which I got, can get pretty spicy. Can’t imagine what the very hot would be like but it would involve some enjoyable suffering. If it doesn’t do anything to you, hats off to you. The beef sticks were good.
