Their pasta was also a pleasant surprise. Fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked to the right texture, it paired really well with the richness of the galbi. You can tell they put real care into both the ingredients and the execution.
Overall, dPlace delivers a unique mix of comfort and creativity, and it’s definitely a spot worth visiting if you want something satisfying and a little different.
We ordered the salads, rosé pasta, and the OC galbi. The food quality was excellent, and the $63 marinated galbi really stood out. It was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Everything was also plated nicely, which made the meal even more enjoyable.
This is a great place to visit with a girlfriend, family, or for a small gathering in a nice atmosphere, whether for lunch or dinner. One of the servers, Jane, was especially friendly and sweet, which made the experience even better.
The price is a bit high for the portion size, but I would definitely come back for the galbi on a special occasion.
I was truly impressed on delicious taste I have experienced.
I recommend this restaurant very strongly~~~
음식이 다 너무 맛있어요 !!!
강추합니다!!!
– Grapefruit prosciutto burrata salad 7/10: Nothing crazy, but I like a nice refreshing burrata salad with an acidic twist.
– Fried calamari 5.5/10: Coating is pretty coarse and the calamari was a bit overcooked. Didn’t really like it.
Drinks:
– Grapefruit Pear Cocktail 6.5/10: Not as sour as I liked(maybe that’s just my pickiness). Pear taste isn’t apparent either. Also tasted like plain syrup.
Entrees:
– MyungRan cream pasta 9.5/10: Subtle roe flavors that worked very well with the salty seaweed strips and creamy pasta. Not a 10 because the out of place baguette piece threw me off. Would eat again for sure.
– Spicy Tomato Risotto 8/10: Nice side entree that had a very good consistent taste throughout the meal. Its taste didn’t change(in a good way) over time as it got cold too.
– Miso Bossam 7/10: Had high hopes, but it was a little tough and salty for me. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt since it was busy at the time and try it again. However,I really liked the 쌈 concept being played by having charred cabbage and three different condiments to eat with the pork belly. The perilla chimmichurri was actually my favorite thing from the whole dinner.
Atmosphere:
Went on a Saturday night where it was about 80% full yet it was too loud to eat and talk leisurely. It’s not a dealbreaker, but just fyi it will be a little loud. Interior dining area was nice and modern. Service was great too despite the business. I’d come here again for sure.
The food is good, but the overall vibe feels off.
I’m not quite sure what concept they’re going for — Korean fusion?
The tables also seem to be positioned awkwardly.
