Always a great experience. The staff are very friendly. I love the Chileajo. As a vegetarian, it’s hard to find dishes when you are out to eat that taste like real food with good flavor. They were unfortunately out tonight, but we were surprised with an off the menu dish that was really tasty.

The Hubby and I wanted to grab a quick dinner before seeing a show at the Genesee Theater. I decided to check out the American Place Casino located nearby the Theater.
We were not aware of protocols for visiting a Casino and were slightly surprised to see that there is a security check for bags and an ID is scanned into their computer by a security guard. No worries, it took just a few minutes.
The Asia Azteca restaurant is located way in the back of the Casino. We had reservations but, they were not really needed. The restaurant had only a handful of diners.
Overall, the restaurant is very large with tall ceilings. It is casual dining and combines Asian and Mexican cuisine. The decor was minimal, mostly Asian.
We were not very hungry and decided to share a few appetizers, which arrived one after another, Tapas style: Empanadas w/chimichurri sauce, Beef Skewers and the steamed pork buns. Everything was basic food, not bad but not high quality. Which was totally fine.
The one OOPS which happened, I ordered a dirty martini and a glass of water with a lemon slice. I got the water and the martini but, the Bar Tender added lemon to the dirty martini? It was a weird combination.
We gave Asia Azteca a try overall, there are other Asian and Mexican local restaurants with better food quality, a little less in price, larger quantities and you don’t have to go through a security line to get to the restaurant.
