Blink and you’ll miss it.
Little hole in the wall Cafe on the side of the freeway.
Friendly service, tried the chicken fried steak. It was properly chewy ,the crust was perfect as was the lightly peppered cream gravy.
They had mentioned and claimed fame for their catfish.
A true diamond in the rough..

First time eating here and oh my gosh! Everything was amazing! Both my husband and I got the steak and eggs. Steaks were cooked amazingly. Biscuits were the best I have had in a long time. Definitely coming back and brining family here. Bastrop’s best kept secret.

My fave reasonably priced sit down fare. Chicken fried steak and chicken are awesome and reasonably priced! Buffalo chicken sandwich is must! Their breakfast special is so affordable and makes eating here such a great experience. Breakfast all day and lunch and specials are always very reasonably priced and the servings are great too! You have to give it a try.

This place is awesome. Karen was extremely welcoming as soon as I stepped foot inside. She had some amazing recommendations and let me know that everything is made IN HOUSE and that they had breakfast AND lunch specials. I ended up ordering the seafood platter which comes with so much food and was perfectly seasoned. Service and food amazing. 10/5 would come again!

Been meaning to stop in for a few years now and tonight was the night. Happy that I did.

The cafe has a quaint friendly, small town, vibe with regulars as everyone seemed to know staff and vice-versa.

Breakfast is served all day so that was a huge plus at 6:30pm. So I ordered a little bit of breakfast, lunch and dinner.

– Chips & salsa (good, could be more spicy)

– Breakfast taco: egg, sausage, beans, cheese (solid especially with the green hot sauce)

– 2 eggs over Med, chicken fried chicken with white gravy, crispy hash browns, and toast (very happy, good size portion)

– 1 fried catfish fillet and 4 fried shrimp (solid)

– slice of coconut cream pie (ok, had better)

$32.99 before tip

Overall it was a great experience and worth checking out. Will definitely be back to try other menu items!

Great breakfast ( has been consistently amazing) , great salsa, horrible lunch. Just everything about the lunches .. flavor, textures..

I tried the lunch menu 3 times, bland over cooked rice, bland refried beans, enchiladas the worst I’ve had, same with quesadilla, my last visit I was served rotten pico and guac. I’m done.

This place used to be awesome and now it’s trash. I ordered the whole tilapia and they gave me catfish fillets and the chili con queso is gritty and nasty and the staff seemed like they knew they were serving me trash and the wrong food but didn’t say anything because they just wanted my money. I will never eat here again and wouldn’t recommend anyone to try it.it was so good before they changed owner or staff or whatever happened.

Most of our group of 6 had the buffet on Sunday at 1pm. I had Coctel Campechana and my teen had the Enchiladas en salsa verde. My campechana did NOT have octopus even though the menu says it does and they didn’t tell me before I ordered it but I can only imagine they were out. They brought salsa, but no chips. They didn’t refill the tea. Salsa on the enchiladas was a lil skimp, in my opinion. Will probably give them a second try before 1.

I wanted to like this so badly because there are not many restaurants near our church or in the area. Excellent service but the food is bland. The buffet items as well as the items we ordered on the menu were tasteless. I spent $55 for food that their cook either did not taste themselves or has no palette. Sad.

The all-you-can-eat fried catfish did NOT disappoint. The other thing you need to know is that this place has great chips and salsa. Like 10/10 amazing. Will definitely come here in the future. As a side note, parking is limited, but you can also park near Twin Liquors.
