My husband and I tried The View Experience Restaurant in Broadview, IL, and whew… I had high hopes.
Let me start with the good because credit where it’s due: the food was actually really good. We were starving and absolutely demolished our plates. The chicken was amazing, the greens were good, and my husband loved his catfish and grits with mac and cheese.
But the experience part of the experience restaurant? Not so great.
We got there at 1:22 PM and stood in the lobby about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Got seated around 1:35. Then we sat… and sat… and sat until almost 2:15/2:30 PM before anyone came to take our order.
Somebody dropped off water in a plastic cup at some point, but no hello, no “I’ll be right with you,” nothing.
We ordered around 2:30. The food actually came out fast after that, which I appreciated. But our drinks never came while we were eating. They showed up after we were done. Like… plates cleared, stomachs full… here come the drinks.
My waffle was also cold and kind of hard. The chicken was amazing, so it felt like half the plate was great and half wasn’t.
Then a DJ started playing music so loud we literally couldn’t talk across the table. We just sat there looking at each other like we were on a silent date. Meanwhile everything around us just felt chaotic, and we just decided to leave.
And here’s my thing: I really want Black-owned businesses to win. Truly. But good food isn’t enough. Customer experience matters. A simple flow—greet guests, take orders timely, bring drinks with the meal, keep the vibe comfortable—goes a long way.
Right now the food is there, but the operations need help.
Would I recommend it? Not at the moment. Not unless you’re okay waiting 30+ minutes for service and yelling over music just to talk to your husband.

We were greeted with a smile at the door.. seated quickly. Our waiter Marcus ” a mixologist” was everything tantive, but not hovering, which is very important lol. Not to long of a wait on our food. We were there for their happy hour. Drinks was on point! And all over great experience, they’ll see us again. We had such a good time i didn’t take pictures

My hg/sis came into town and I wanted to try this place for so long and we loved it. It was her first time trying lamb chops and y’all didn’t disappoint. I had the ribeye steak the sweet potatoes weren’t whipped but they were so delicious.
The salmon bites were good to.

I had the opportunity to visit The View this past Thursday, and it was an awesome experience…even better than I expected! (They were hosting a private event…pleasant surprise)!
I first heard about the restaurant earlier this summer and finally made it in a couple month’s later after meeting one of the owners, who told me about their happy hours, brunch, and karaoke nights.
From the moment I walked in, the ambience, staff, food, and drinks were all top-notch. I even met the other owner that day she was so pleasant and welcoming. The salmon bites and Tuscan pasta with lamb chops paired with cocktails did not miss! They absolutely got it right. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

We had our first annual Sneaker Ball held at The View 1701.
The host was so gracious, the staff was very friendly, and on point and the food was DELICIOUS!!

Came in during happy hour! Food is delicious! The fried catfish and shrimp baskets are fried to perfection! The salmon bites are juicy and crispy! The frozen cocktails were a hit! Great food, good music , great atmosphere! Marcus and Ari our servers were so kind and friendly! Overall great customer service! 10/10 would recommend!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here on Monday. Our server was Riel. The customer service, food, and ambiance was 5 stars all the way. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and family. Praying that this restaurant is blessed to have years of success to come.

Although I didn’t order real food, my god sister did she ordered the catfish basket for happy hour and she said the fish tasted good however presentation could use some work. I had the spinach dip which was amazing 10 out of 10 will recommend sat at the bar for happy hour for drinks loved every minute even met the owner during our time there and it was a blast. Definitely will be back for more of the festivities.

The food and drinks here are really good. Our server was nice and accommodating. However, the young lady at the front door was extremely rude, downright nasty attitude. She’ll make people not want to come back. The DJ was great. Two thumbs up on the music. But there weren’t many people there for their Saturday brunch. For such a small crowd, the music was way too loud. We had to shout just to hear each other. I would go back if invited for a special occasion, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! So delicious! I had the lamb chops and potatoes. Normally cones with eggs but I don’t eat eggs. I drank “The View” great as well awesome dj and the vibes were great!!
