We were up in Mammoth for the weekend and friday night went to Freds Fish House. We had a great waitress who was very attentive and friendly. We both had the seafood platter with clam strips, 4 fried shrimp, 3 pieces of catfish, fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies. The serving was large and very fresh. Great clean tasting fish. A definite must try in Mammoth Springs AR.

Finally found a fish place that does catfish southern style. Atmosphere was easy on the eyes and the waitress and service was super. This is a must visit if you’re visiting this area. Along with the restaurant it sits on what would deam as main street. The buildings are old but very nostalgic as to the days they were built. Anyway hands down with the waterfall down the street and the rail museum it’s a pleasurable visit

Finished showing property in Mammoth, Ash Flat etc and wanted to treat myself! I haven’t eaten here in years. Everything was really good! Fresh and hot, just like I remembered! I had the 21 pc shrimp dinner with a baked potato, hush puppies, Cole slaw, pickle and onion. Sweet tea was really good too! Staff was attentive and everything was clean. I’ll be back for sure!

Fred’s is easily one of the stars of Mammoth Spring, with wonderful hush puppies, the best (most fresh) fried chicken I’ve ever had, and a Ribeye that is well worth the price. The only problem with eating at Freds is that it will make it difficult to eat any one else’s chicken.

The food is always fantastic. The fried fish is never greasy or heavy on the stomach. The fries, onion rings and hush puppies are delicious! The staff are always super friendly.

Mixed review, waiting a while for our food, even others around us who came in after got theirs. Waitress was friendly and that help out at least. The main saving grace was the food was delicious so that a huge plus. May try again next time in the area.

Great fish dinner. Even though it wasn’t Thursday, I ordered the Thursday Special. 4 pcs catfish, hush puppies, and fries. Delicious and very well priced.

What I ordered was great, I got the grilled fish pratter. My wife got the shrimp plate. I’m not a fan of their shrimp. Kinda rubbery… My fish, though, was super flaky and tons of flavor.
I liked the coleslaw, I did add a bit of salt and pepper. Hushpuppies were too dry for my taste.
Not bad ambiance, seemed pretty aged. The bathroom floor was a hot mess.
No wet wipes for customer hands.
Good visit. I just think this location needs to zone in on a few things to get 5 stars.
