Came down from Pittsburgh to wvu where my son attends and was looking for a restaurant to celebrate his 19th birthday and Stefanos hit the mark. Everything was delicious!! Myself and my son had the veal parm. My wife had the gnocchi and meatball and my son’s girlfriend had the salmon. Both entrees were great as well. Our server Riley was awesome as well! If ever in Morgantown stop at Stefanos you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing meal and service provided at Stefano’s mid week.

Restaurant was almost half full at the time I arrived.

The server Cody was very friendly and seated me promptly. Accommodated me with bread and a palate cleanser between courses

The lavender lemon drop was enjoyed not once, but twice and was perfect each time.

I enjoyed the crab meat with the two varieties of sauce, homemade gnocchi with a giant stuffed meatball and cannoli for dessert.

The crab was fresh and the sauces were excellent.

The gnocchi were soft and fresh. Paired with the big meatball I was struggling to finish.

The pistachio chocolate chip cannoli was fresh and not too sweet.

Will be back

Nice Italian restaurant in Morgantown. The staff are AMAZING and knowledgeable about the dishes here. We enjoyed the seafood here especially the crab cakes
The ambiance is perfect for a special occasion or business dinner.

Phenomenal service and outstanding food! The vodka chicken is tremendously amazing, but you should ask for extra sauce, and I always get double protein, so that’s what you’re seeing. It’s incredible.

Had an impeccable dinner…the pasta was superb and the scallops cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the artichoke appetizer as well. The service and food could not have been better. The best place in Morgantown I’ve eaten at.

Seven years ago, this restaurant was where my boyfriend and I had our very first date, and for nostalgia’s sake we returned, dressed to impress—he in a fitted navy suit, me in a long-sleeved, high-waisted dress. Unfortunately, the only thing Italian about the place remains its name. I’m Italian, second generation American, with a grandfather straight off the boat, and my boyfriend has Italian roots as well. Yet when I gave my reservation, they couldn’t even pronounce my Italian last name correctly. There’s not a “U” in it, but one was conjured anyway, and I was left twitching before we’d even sat down.

The atmosphere is admittedly pleasant—dark, secluded, intimate—and our server was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. But the food, the supposed heart of an “Italian” restaurant, was a travesty. The bread rolls were unmistakably frozen bulk-bag rejects from Sam’s Club or Walmart, bland enough that even I, someone who could live on bread, barely managed one. Chain steakhouses serve far better for a fraction of the price. My gnocchi had clearly never met a potato, arriving as mushy lumps, while my boyfriend’s shrimp pasta was equally overcooked and limp. It seems the kitchen has never learned the meaning of al dente. As for flavor, it barely stretched beyond salt, pepper, and garlic powder—certainly no balsamic reduction, no herbs, nothing remotely authentic. For this culinary beige, we paid over $120 without even ordering dessert. That’s not expensive; that’s overpriced.

Even the clientele underscored the absurdity. In a so-called upscale restaurant, we were surrounded by families in basketball shorts, white socks, and worn-out slides. We were easily the best-dressed couple in the room, which is less a compliment to us than an indictment of the place’s lack of standards. If you’re going to charge fine-dining prices, the least you can do is enforce a dress code so I don’t have to eat pasta mush across from dingy athletic wear.

In the end, the only redeeming qualities are the atmosphere and the servers. This is not an Italian restaurant. It is an overpriced parody serving overcooked pasta, frozen bread, and under-seasoned food, all while failing to pronounce an Italian name correctly. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful date, but only because we made it one—certainly not because of what was on our plates. You’d be better off in the frozen aisle of Kroger or your own kitchen.

Stefano’s evokes what we feel would be a universal prepossessing spirit for all who enter. What an amazing suprise! Such a sophisticated restaurant in a hide-a-away type location. Secreted in an subterranean grotto beneath a bowling ally! An atmosphere absorbs you, where the aesthetics are gracious without being obsequious or pompous. Stefano’s is an epicurean delight! Elegant fine dining with a feeling of prepubescent magical wonderment.

I live in Washington, DC, where Michelin-starred restaurants surround me, but nothing compares to my love for Stefano’s! The atmosphere is unmatched, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is outstanding. Their Chilean sea bass, prime NY strip, escargot, and amazing meatballs are impeccable. Plus, they serve the freshest, piping hot bread in West Virginia. I always order the carrot cake for dessert (moist, flavorful & pleasing). Stefano’s truly has it all!

Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere however our service was subpar at best. Had made a reservation for our anniversary for 7:30 and were immediately seated along with an older couple next to us. I had ordered a cocktail for which I waited at least 30 minutes to receive. The couple next to us ordered theirs and received them from the same server within 5 minutes. The food was amazing but also took a while to receive (which is to be expected yes for quality meals but not when tables sat after you receive their food before your own). The cocktail and dessert were also very good. Maybe our server was having a bad evening but it was off putting since we were the only younger couple in the establishment.
