Located in the north lakeland, this restaurant is quite loud. The staff’s eagerness to help was overwhelming, but we got seated and ordered drinks without any issues. As first-time customers, we were a bit taken aback by the pace. The buffalo chicken pizza was decent, and the crust was excellent. We also ordered mussels, which were in a spaghetti sauce rather than a tomato broth, and while they weren’t bad, they were different from what we expected. My wife had the eggplant Parmesan, which was a bit of a disappointment, as was huge yet lacked flavor. Despite this, we were willing to give the restaurant another chance. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food we received. If you’re looking for Italian food in the area, this restaurant is worth a visit. There’s plenty of parking available, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, accepting cash and credit cards.

Alright, let’s talk about Il Forno Italian Restaurant. We hit up the Northside location, and honestly, the service alone was worth the trip. The entire staff seemed to be on the same team, hustling around and helping each other out.
We kicked things off with the bruschetta. It was a good warm-up, you know? It did its job, but it wasn’t the main event. Then our waitress, who clearly has taste buds from the heavens, recommended the chicken parmesan pizza. Guys, this pizza was a game-changer. My taste buds weren’t just dancing, they were doing a full-on conga line. We innocently asked if we could share it, and she said it was 12 inches, so we both got one. Turns out, that thing is a full meal and a half. We definitely could have split it and been perfectly happy. Rookie mistake.
Luckily, we left just enough room for the grand finale: the brown sugar bourbon cheesecake. The waitress told us it comes from some legendary “cheesecake lady at Plant City,” and let me tell you, this dessert delivered. It was the perfect ending and absolutely did not disappoint.
If you’re in the area, go for the pizza, stay for the cheesecake, and enjoy the all-star service. Just maybe consider sharing that 12-incher.

The atmosphere was great and our server Melissa recommended the “Big Mac” pizza and she NAILED IT. THE PIZZA tasted so delicious, the sauce was spot on just like eating a real Big Mac. The food came out very quick. She had a pleasant smile and bubbly personality. Definitely will be back again for the Big Mac pizza

I’ve had many traditional italian style pizzas in my life. I’ll say this pizza was THE best ive had in a long time. I ordered the deal-1 slice of pizza, salad, and drink- for 13 dollars. This was Money well spent. Buying the pizza by the slice, having it reheated, and it come out tasting amazing, it shows these people know exactly what they’re doing. 10/10

Il Forno definitely makes my favorite chicken parmesan in Polk County! Good, quality chicken with a nice, crispy crust and the perfect cheese ratio. The staff is always great and you can tell the owner is a very hardworking and really cares about his business and the food they put out. Wishing them much success at this new location!

Such a good local spot, where the food is amazing and the service is top notch. This location is new and was not to disappoint. Cheyanne and Shawna were excellent behind the bar, and I could genuinely tell they enjoyed working here. 5 Stars to the ladies and chef. Oh, and don’t forget to try the cheesecake… WOW! I will definitely return to Il Forno Northside.

We have been long time costumers of the south side and we have always loved visiting and eating there. We are so happy that they added a north side location! The portions are huge and the food is delicious! We love the family feel and we feel like family every time we visit! We highly recommend visiting!
