Absolutely exceptional service at the vegan spot. Friendly and welcoming staff. Lots of goodies here to select. Thus far, the vanilla ice cream is so delicious. Outdoor seating and well decor inside. A scratch made kitchen, a rarity these days. Parking available and conveniently off the main road. ☺️☕

Friends: I highly recommend Sun Belly Cafe! This little Vegan Restaurant is a diamond in the rough. We were warmly called out a welcome when we walked in the door, with an advisement to pick a seat and they’d be right with us. We felt right at home. We soon learned that this restaurant is locally owned and operated, as It was truly a pleasure to meet the owners, who are also the Chef and Waiter. I chose the Summer Roll as my appetizer while my husband opted for the Spinach Artichoke Stuffed Mushrooms: both were thoughtfully prepared and tasty, however, the stuffed mushrooms were fabulous with the dimensions of flavor surprising! My entree was the Thai Butternut Squash Soup complimented by a Corn Muffin with vegan butter, which was all absolutely delicious. My husband chose the Sweet Potato Chick Pea Curry, also complimented by a Corn Muffin with Vegan butter. My wonderful husband was a little out of his element at a Vegan Restaurant; It was an act of love for him to accompany me and he did with such grace. He was not a fan of the curry and I was too full to try it at the time, so, we took it home for me to try for lunch the following day. Our dessert choices were the House made Apple Cobbler a la mode, Peanut Butter Cookie and a Buckeye, all of which were very good. While there, my husband smiled and said “I know you…right now, you’re thinking of friends to bring back here.” We both laughed because of course, He is correct. I will definitely return with friends.

Thank you for a delightful lunch! I’ll be back!

A rarity in Greenville. The food presentation is absolutely beautiful and you feel like your body is healing as you’re eating their beautiful creations. I know I sound sappy, but I ate here for the first time yesterday and I can tell you I’ve eaten everywhere in Greenville and this by far exceeds almost anywhere I’ve eaten if you’re into healthy food. I can’t believe I’ve missed this place. They’ve been in business 10 years and they really deserve more attention. You won’t be sorry the food is fantastic and I’m very very very particular.

Found this place by chance while looking for a healthy option for my pregnant wife. It’s an affordable vegan restaurant less than five minutes from downtown Greenville, serving fresh, flavor-forward plant-based food that’s both nourishing and genuinely delicious.

We started with the hummus plate, which came with two variations of hummus, fresh-cut cucumbers, carrots, celery, grape tomatoes, and a lightly dressed spring mix.

Next was the special of the day, a roasted red pepper soup that stood out for its peppery freshness and bright hint of acidity. It had a great depth of flavor, the kind you get when a soup is built carefully from the ground up rather than just seasoned at the end.

For the main course, I had the mushroom grilled cheese, an open-faced sandwich packed with umami flavor that was hearty and satisfying. It was served with roasted potatoes, fresh-cut fruit (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries), and a spring-mix salad loaded with diced carrots, squash, and apple.

My wife had the breakfast quinoa bowl, which struck a great balance of sweet and savory. The quinoa was cooked nicely, light, fluffy, and tender with distinct grains, not mushy or dry. It was exactly what we were looking for, a satisfying meal packed with protein, essential amino acids, and folate.

Overall, the meal was affordable, filling, and nutritious without sacrificing flavor. Friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. We’ll definitely make this a weekend destination for brunch or weekday lunch.

One of Greenville’s best locally owned restaurants (they’ve been open for 10 years) and an excellent option for couples, coworkers, or small groups looking for real value in today’s economy.

This place served us an excellent vegan lunch. I got the mushroom grilled cheese that I expected a regular grilled cheese sandwich, but this was served open-faced. The cheese and mushrooms were savory and rich and served on bread from a local bakery called “Spatula”. The smashed potatoes were the best I’ve ever had. I look forward to driving through this area again just so I can get this dish again. My husband got the tofu scramble. It was served with fresh fruit and the delicious smashed potatoes. The scramble was flavorful with fresh spinach and tomatoes. The fruit and potatoes paired perfectly with the scramble. We shared a bowl corn chowder that was also fantastic.

There were about 8 types of soup to choose from. It was hard to decide! I will come back and try more of them.

The owner served us and his wife is the chef. Great service! There were a lot of desserts to choose from so we got them to go. We really loved this restaurant.

I have been here a few times and the food and service have always been wonderful. As a vegan, I really appreciate this place. I had recommended it to several friends and some had gone and also enjoyed it, so we all went together for lunch.

I strongly recommend to the owner that if you are going to be open while catering two events, just close. It took well over an hour to be served and almost 20 to have our order taken. The food came out in pieces for our table of 5 over a 15 minute span after waiting an additional near hour and the final person not getting her main (just soup!) for over 90 minutes after ordering. One soup was 86d, but we were not told before ordering. After 45 minutes of waiting I was advised the side of my order was not available then given two other options, which I chose from, only to have something else brought out over 30 minutes later. Part of our group had to leave the wait was so long and another item was forgotten about and we had to ask about it twice. It was odd also the waitress was mildly miffed when we informed her after almost 90 minutes some of us had to leave.

My waffle was luke warm at best, so cold the butter would not melt and the raisin bread very under cooked, not just soft and moist. I ended up paying $13 for a cold waffle. The waitress told us the chef was frazzled and in my option over shared some other things. We just tried our best to be patient and nice. She did comp our drinks, my friend’s soup that took 90 minutes and also gave a discount on the other items, which is greatly appreciated. Normally everything is great, so I again recommend if you are catering two events (200 and 60 people, each event) just stay closed or at least warn people about the wait and the items not available when they arrive versus after, especially after ordering and waiting. We really want this place to continue to be around. Thank you.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise! A small but comfortable sit down restaurant with a great selection of vegan and gluten free options, including deserts. You can watch the food being prepared and everything was top notch h. I especially liked the hand-made chocolate. Our server was super friendly and we all left with a good memory of our meal at the Sun Belly Cafe.

Cute little place with EXCELLENT plant-based options. I had grilled “cheese” with carrot-ginger soup, plus they gave me a free sample of “chicken salad” to try. Everything was delicious! Service was friendly and cheerful and the atmosphere was great. I had no idea northern Greenville had such a great option for plant based foods and I will definitely some back to try other menu options!

Oh wow… what can I say!!! This place was amazing. I went searching for a plant-based/raw restaurant and this gem showed up in the search. The food here is awesome. The salads are amazing. The desserts are delicious. And the juices are wonderful. The wife was not expecting such a good experience, but when she took the first spoonful of food into her mouth, she quickly changed her opinion. She enjoyed her food, as did I. After we got in the car, she ran back in and bought a bunch of plant based dessert. This will be our favorite new spot now that we are transitioning to a plant based eating lifestyle. The owners are a super nice family. We enjoyed meeting them and swapping war stories about raising 5 kids (we both have 4 daughters and a son, lol). Go visit. You’ll enjoy the food and the family.
