OUR STORY At La Estrella bringing people together has been our inspiration since opening the first location, 26 years ago, in Manteca, California. We now have 5 locations and 2 taco trucks. As we continue to open restaurants in the Central Valley, we continue to create more job opportunities for the community, while our extended family of guests and associates remains at the heart of what we do.

This is a good place to eat quality Mexican food. The waitresses are very attentive and friendly with impeccable uniforms, clean tables, the decor and the atmosphere, in my opinion, have a good vibe. Also, the food didn’t take long to arrive (25 minutes). If it had taken a little longer, it wouldn’t matter since they have a salsa bar and they serve you a generous amount of chips as a starter. I can say that apart from a good seasoning, the food looks very fresh. Anyway, I didn’t give it 5 stars because I hope to receive the same treatment on my next visit.

Delicious food and friendly service! We ordered chicken fajitas (HUGE portion), flautas and kids chicken taco plate. There’s a great salsa bar with everything you’d want for tacos: curtido, radish, grilled jalapeños! Very friendly service.

I’ve been a customer for over 20 years and have witnessed the quality of food, customer service and atmosphere deteriorating progressively. A visit on 12/01/2025 found the restroom deplorable, the shrimp cocktail and oysters marginal and our order to go of cheese enchiladas with onions completely wrong. We received enchiladas with partially beef inside and the grilled onions spread across the top. Once a great restaurant with good food is now a memory. We will not return again and will share our displeasure with others as appropriate.

Pretty disappointed, waited 30min for our food, asked for a Super Burrito no beans no rice extra meat and this is what we get and yes paid extra for the meat, I would understand if there were lines of people waiting and we’re pretty backed up but they were not. Watching the staff cook and prep your food while they horse around in the kitchen I guess should have been a sign.

Very disappointing, food looked nothing like on pictures, no onions or bell peppers just dry eggs, over scrambled, cant even see any bits of chorizo, might be because its just half a tiny sausage mixed in with the “flaky egg”, a sad basket of chips served with air, yes don’t expect a pico de gallo, no condiments, I just ate it coz I was hungry and because I payed for it. And don’t want to cause any scene.

Great service. Unfortunately the food isn’t good enough to recommend as an “authentically Mexican restaurant”. The food they sell are Mexican dishes, but do not have the authentic taste it should.
The asada fries were okay. But the burrito was not, it was basically a beans burrito with little to no meat. Also, when it comes to tacos, stick with asada because the other meats are not good.
