I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer at Cider Belly Doughnuts for my birthday donuts. Jennifer was very professional and passionate. Jennifer helped me come up with flavors and designs to compliment the donuts. Jennifer‘s communication was excellent and always followed up. Thank you so much!

These are probably my favorite in the capital region when it comes to donuts. Huge variety to select from and every donut had great texture and flavor. The pic was taken around St Patrick’s Day. Will definitely return in the future.
They recently had a Peanut Butter Whiskey and Smores Donut, I’d say the PB Whiskey may have been the best donut I’ve ever eaten.

I fell in love with Cider Belly when I got them at Honest Weight Food Co-op. I make it a point to grab a donut every time I go there. For our wedding, my husband and I opted for Cider Belly donuts instead of a cake. It was one of the best decisions. Jennifer was very easy to work with and accommodated all of our requests. She is a wiz when it comes to catering events. We went with 3 different flavors, all of them with a few gluten-free ones for our GF guests. They were a hit! Jennifer recommended to-go bags and we maybe had 6 donuts left over. That made me so happy because I feel like there’s usually so much cake left over at weddings. They also gave us a Bride and Groom donut box that we froze to have on our first wedding anniversary.

These donuts are delicious. I’ve been to a lot of donut places and this one is near the top of my list. A little pricey but worth it.

Great donut shop, pretty decent selection As there is most likely something for everyone. They were all cake donuts, didn’t have any that were filled, but I’m not sure if that’s how it is normally. The staff was great.

I am not a huge fan of doughnuts, but Cider Belly Doughnuts are on another level. The doughnuts are a perfect size and have a very delicious flavor. There are a ton of options to choose from. This place is a gem in the area. Go indulge and support a lovely local business.

This place has the BEST donuts, and a tremendous variety of flavors. I particularly like the maple iced donuts, called sap sucker! My grandkids loved the “hot chocolate” flavor. You can get coffee as well as specialty drinks like lattes. There are many seasonal varieties, so you will always have something new.

Perhaps the best doughnut shop in the Capital District. A wide variety of donuts including Vegan options. This new location is also extremely clean and the staff is very friendly. The original location on North Pearl Street closed in February 2023 due to lack of sales as State workers continue to telecommute and never returned to Downtown Albany in the same numbers as those prior to COVID. Doughnuts range from $2 to $5 a piece. Great treats but tons of calories and sugar!

I ordered six donuts and a hot chocolate during my visit. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate was cold, which was really disappointing. The Ol’ Albany donut, I’d described as having Oreo cookie frosting on a cake donut, was overwhelmingly sweet—just too much sugar for my taste. The donuts were placed in a paper bag instead of a box, which seemed odd for a bakery.
There was a line when I arrived, but it moved quickly. However, the space inside is very small, with just two small two-seater tables. It doesn’t feel comfortable to eat there while people are navigating through the line.
The reason I wouldn’t return is because the donuts are priced between $2.50 and $5.00 each, and while I’m all for supporting small businesses, I do expect a certain level of packaging and presentation for that price. And I like my hot chocolate to actually be hot.

Awesome donut shop! So many flavors! They have seasonal flavors. The donuts range in price for $1-$3. There are vegan options. There are gluten free options (however they are fried in the same oil as regular donuts so not recommended for Celiac’s or anyone super sensitive to gluten this is the only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5). I have a gluten intolerance but I was able to eat 4 gluten free donuts in 1 day without symptoms. Their cranberry orange flavor is amazing! The gluten free doughnuts all have the same base doughnuts, just different flavored toppings and icing. If you are there early in the morning you will have a better chance of getting gluten free doughnuts. Call ahead if you can like the day before to make sure you have some set aside for you. They now put dobuts in boxes if you get 12 or more I think.
