Shah’s Halal was established in 2005 with one food cart in Richmond Hill Queens on 121st and Liberty Avenue, and we’ve been tantalizing taste buds ever since. In 2016, we developed our first Long Island branch with the goal in mind of becoming, “the best Halal Food Restaurant;” and we’ve definitely grown a lot since then! We know our customers are just as passionate about great food as we are. Shah’s Halal is fortunate to have locations surrounded by communities that are all rich in history, and filled with passionate people from all walks of life. Hands down one of the best halal spots around. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the quality never drops. I stopped by on a Monday around lunchtime and got the lamb platter. Absolutely delicious. Hearty amount of food too. I’m really satisfied. I love how spicy the hot sauce is.

Shahs Restaurant was a complete disappointment. After my experience, I seriously question the authenticity of the positive reviews because they do not reflect reality at all.
The service was extremely slow and disorganized. I visited once when they first opened and wasn’t impressed, but I decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately, the second visit was even worse.
Despite claiming that orders can be customized, they do not allow any real customization. My friend is allergic to onions, and we clearly explained this to the main manager. He assured us it could be adjusted later. Our food arrived 35 minutes later, completely covered in onions. When I pointed this out, he said he would remake the order. However, less than five minutes later, the same dish was brought back — I watched an employee simply pick the onions out by hand. This is unacceptable from both a hygiene and customer-respect standpoint.
The food was extremely bland, with almost no seasoning, and the quality of the chicken was very poor. A plate and one side, without a drink, cost nearly $20, which is outrageous for what you get.
What’s most concerning is how the owner responds to negative reviews by accusing customers of posting “fake” reviews. That level of unprofessionalism says a lot.
I will not be returning and do not recommend this place.

I love Shah’s Halal!
The service is great. The owners are so kind. The food is quick and delicious. I love getting the lamb combo, and make sure you get the white sauce on it. It’s like a yogurt/tzatziki-type sauce. You have to try the pakora chips too! We’re definitely going to be regulars here!

Like to go here occasionally for some really good food. Would suggest going in for a calmer atmosphere. The workers are also pretty helpful, and Nawid Afghanistani was able to help me throughout my order even when I was somewhat nervous. Would go here again!

My office had Shah Halal for our office lunch and it was VERY good. The staff was super friendly and loaded the large order into my car and made sure everything was perfectly packaged and wouldn’t move around. Everyone had seconds, the food was amazing. The sauces were especially yummy, and we got several large containers for the order. I don’t think i have ever enjoyed lamb until trying Shah’s. Big fan, we will for sure be coming back

So fresh and delicious! The fish is so delicate and tender. The wings are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. This location is the only one what is always consistent. Staff is friendly and restaurant is clean. 10/10

First time trying this spot, even though I’m not a fan of chain restaurants, I must give this place two thumbs up. It was fast, fresh, and delicious, especially when you get it at 2am, impressed. This will be my future go to place late night cravings. Do check it out, the staff is super nice as well.
