Very cool place. Love the vibe! Little loud in there but we also went at 9:00 on a Sunday. Had a hard time to decide what we wanted, there’s so much to choose from!! The prices were a little high, but then the food came and it all made sense. You definitely get your moneys worth. I had the brisket skillet with a honey butter biscuit my wife had the Braisen skillet made with short rib. I’m a tea drinker and they had some excellent choices of tea which are full leaf and steeped in an infuser and tea pot at the table. We ordered the 4 biscuits, but they never came. My wife had a caramel macchiato which she said was delicious. The waiter checked with the kitchen and something got messed up as they are scratch made biscuits. He took it off the bill and gave us a couple before we left for free to say sorry. We’ll definitely be back to try out their vast menu.

Everything about Buttermilk is fantastic! The service was exceptional. Our server understood giving us time to view the menu without pressure. She was a lovely blend between friendly and efficient. We ordered a basket of biscuits to enjoy before our breakfast and let me tell you, best choice ever! We bought the jelly to go because it’s simply amazing!!
I had the fried green tomatoes Benedict. Holy! Yum! So, so good. The potatoes really are nothing to brag about, a plate filler for sure. Go with fruit, healthier and tastier.
Will definitely return here again. The atmosphere is also so welcoming, decorated in style and clean.

This place is absolutely bonkers. Went on the weekend for late brunch. It was packed and had a long wait time but it was worth it. The staff is really polite kind and helpful. They make changes if needed. Very accommodating. The food itself is really amazing. We got the skillets, pancakes and french toast. They were all delicious! And huge portion size. Pretty decent priced, even though it’s a bit on the higher end. Limited parking depending what time of the day you come in. Definitely recommended for a good family/friends breakfast.

Everything in this place is awesome. The honey bun or cinnamon pancakes fire. The butcher omelet with three meats and two cheeses unbelieveable. The dessert and the staff super friendly. I haven’t had a dish i did not love. Great selection of coffee and they have Hot Chocolate.

This is our favorite breakfast place in the area. Brilliant decor, friendly people, excellent quality food with generous portions and an expansive menu. Today we came on “Biscuit Tuesday” which means everyone gets free, fresh out of the oven honey biscuits. I’m not much of a bread lover but these biscuits are of a higher order. The aroma and flavors literally melt in your mouth. We brought our 5-year-old granddaughter today and she ordered the “Birthday Pancakes” with whipped cream and sprinkles. We told our server that it wasn’t her birthday but she really loved these pancakes and we wanted to pay for them. Buttermilk doesn’t charge kids for this order if it’s their birthday. But even though we said it wasn’t her birthday and we would pay for them, our server still didn’t charge us for her pancakes! This restaurant is very kid friendly with craft projects and crayons for every kiddo that comes in (which our granddaughter loved)! The food is wonderful. My wife had a skillet and I ordered the salmon plate (lox and bagels). Both dishes surpassed our expectations and we brought plenty of food home. Two cautions to consider: 1) it’s usually crowded and while we were seated right away and we loved our server, there are wait times for the food and the check as they are serving so many people. 2) it’s pricey. Three of us cost $65 without paying for our granddaughter’s entree because they comped that. We did give our server a 25% tip because she was so great but we don’t mind paying more for high quality food and excellent service. I highly recommend Buttermilk in Downers Grove!

My wife and I took my Grandma here and we had a great time. The service was fast and the food was delicious and fairly priced. I got the Chicken Fried Chicken skillet and I was IMPRESSED. It was a huge portion with great flavor. And cinnamon roll pancakes on the side. Yum! My wife and grandma got omelets. The Frenchie and the Ranch. Both absolutely delicious as well. My wife and I also shared a vanilla latte which was milkier than I thought. I may do a cappuccino next time. I will definitely be back.

First of all, the waitresses here deserve a better restaurant. Second, the bacon is oily and overcooked and a offense to the pig it came from. The restaurant is good looking and clean, however once it’s above 50% capacity it’s hard to have a conversation across the table, it’s too loud inside this place. And lastly it’s expensive by the much higher food quality standards of mom and pop restaurants. Why is the menu larger than a football coach cheatsheet? Where is the spoons? 2020 was a long ago, give me real silverware. Lastly, it is a cheap trick to fill half the plate with potato squares to show abundance. Do better

Mario’s service was excellent! We had a group of seven- great service, everything came out as ordered, and was very tasty! Biscuit was the best I’ve ever had. With an excellent raspberry (?) jam. All the food seemed very fresh. Scrambles, omelettes, breakfast potatoes all were very good. Coffee/espresso options were good but we all agreed they were a little too watery.

Such a cute restaurant and the food was great (portions are HUGE, so take note). The best part of our meal was our waitress: Emily. We were a table of ten, but she treated every one of us like we were a special guest. She got every inch of our order correct and even added in a couple extra touches (including to-go coffee cups!). We were so impressed with her cheerful attitude during the entirety of our meal. Thank you, Emily!
