Ukrainian brunch cafe where they have so many dishes I’ve never tried before.

HOLUBSTI $20
– my favorite dish. It’s 3 cabbage rolls filled with beef and rice on top of a tomato sauce served with a side of toasted bread. So delicious and reminded me of grape leaves but with cabbage instead highly recommend

MYLNTSI (crepes) $19
I for the one with chicken and mushrooms sauce and it was pretty tasty. The crepe is filled with ground chicken I think with a creamy mushroom sauce on the outside. I liked this but felt the dish needed more of the sauce since most of the flavor came from the sauce

They also have cherry filled dumplings that I really wanted to try but they ran out so I’ll be back for them next time!m

The food was so great! Love the atmosphere and staff was friendly. The honey lavender latte was so amazing. I did find it odd that you have to order at the counter when it feels like a sit down place though so that kills the vibes a little but everyone was kind!

Absolutely amazing. They should change the name of the restaurant to Simply Amazing Food! I stumbled on this place and loved everything about it. The staff is kind, friendly, and helpful. The chicken dumplings were flavorful and went perfectly with the sour cream. The classic cheese pancakes were like soufflé pancakes with a gently crusty exterior- perfection.
Thank you for an amazing experience.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem just down the road from La Brea Tar Pits. My boyfriend was worried about the serving size at first, but was quickly and happily stuffed. The coffee was absolutely delicious.

Nice restaurant with good outdoor seating. Staff is very friendly. Food is nice with heavy Ukrainian influences so they attract mainly Eastern European patrons. The borscht and rye bread were great. The Caesar salad with smoked salmon was a bit hit and miss (smoked salmon doesn’t really work with Parmesan shavings in my opinion but I gave it a go). The croutons were more like toasted slices of unseasoned bread. The orange juice was disappointing- we’re in Southern California so I expected freshly-squeezed not from-concentrate but you get what you get.

Such a heartwarming cafe with great vibes. You go up the counter to order & pay first before going to a table.

The two dishes I got on two occasions were a great blend of flavors, and I recommend both for anyone who’s looking for something warm, cozy, and filling. To me, each was the perfect portion size by itself to feel satisfied without getting too full, but I can see why some would get other side dishes along with them. Also a perfect place to get out your computer/books and study!

Borsht: the beef inside the soup was chunky and umami, and the bread has a rich, caramelized sweet flavor that complements the broth. I would have liked my ham a bit less fatty, but I think some other people’s were less so. The soup portion is pretty decent too, and the sour cream brings another dimension to the flavor.

Beef cabbage rolls: It’s a hearty combo of flavors, with the beef, tomato sauce, softened carrots, cabbage, and other veggies. The bread contains some nuts on its surface, which adds another texture. And love the garnishing flavor on top. I’d say this is a balanced meal that still leaves you satisfied.

Their menu is really diverse, so even if you’d like something completely different for brunch/a meal, I say they’d still satisfy!

I was surprised to find such a nice location in LA. I totally respect what they have created there. Every detail immerses you in the Ukrainian atmosphere. They make really good coffee and delicious desserts, and they also have Ukrainian dishes on their menu. I highly recommend visiting this place to experience how serving and tasting food should be.

Resonate with all the other enthusiastic reviewers. How come that I never discovered this place before! Light and fluffy like clouds and infused with delightful cheesiness, the syrnyky could not be translated as “pancakes” as all pancakes become lackluster in front of them. The holubtsi were very satisfying too – what a treat into fall and winter. Think of the best home-cooking a talented mom/dad somewhere makes for her family everyday – wholesome, bringing happiness. Will be back!
