Well I would probably give 3 and a half stars because there was a lot of food but I was disappointed because my burrito tasted like a bowl of chili without cheese. It wasn’t bad, but just wasn’t what I expected. My husband had the enchiladas and it was just ok as we are use to very good tex mex food. We like cheese with our Mexican food and there didn’t seem to be very much Of Any. I think the reason we were disappointed also is that on the menu on their website and FB the meals were all $5.00 each higher than posted. It is $8.99 each and is now $13.25 each so that’s a rather large difference. Now keep in mind my burrito was very large but I don’t eat that much so it didn’t do me any good to pay $5.00 more than advertised. It was probably worth the $9.00 each to be honest but diff not the $14.00. just our opinion. It is very clean and the staff was very nice. Everyone has their preference and this is just our opinion.

Excellent place for homemade fare. Hot spot for the locals, it’s worth going out of your way if you are a tourist. My meatloaf special was generous, the green beans were just like Grandma made. [Beef] enchilada plate was beefy, cheesy, and delicious. Definitely top with the included sour cream. We all had desserts, German cake, blackberry cobbler, and a cinnamon roll, all worth saving room for! The only complaint came from the kid who said his Philly cheesesteak was overcooked and oily – he’s had several in PA, so he is picky about his cheesesteaks. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

My wife and I went last night and ordered the prime rib plate. 14oz of heaven. The steak was great, and the owner and workers were very friendly. We had some leftover and i had it for breakfast this morning. We will be going back.

Went for pick up during covid – easy to order on phone, very pleasant staff – family atmosphere. Food was ready when we got there. Hot food packaged with hot and cold food – salads – separate bag. Place is located right off the main road into Laguna across from park. They are only doing take out. Hand sanitizers located at door – all in masks. The place is not big . Looked like some wonderful desserts in bakery case. One of our friends loves their hamburgers for lunch so we thought we would try the dinner special. They have a different one each night. Tonight was prime rib. I like mine rare and husband likes it medium rare. The cut is 14oz. Came with salad with dressing, roll and butter, delicious twice baked potatoes with cheese and bacon, bacon seasoned fresh green beans and a slice of pie with whipped cream for around $30 a person. Prime rib was juicy, it is not trimmed so you do get that tasty fat with the meat. Would certainly try again.

I spent the last week in April 2024 birding around the RGV. Luckily, I found this place and ate there 3 times in 4 days. The toasted croissant with the chicken salad was excellent. Also had some amazing fried catfish and a Mesquite grilled chicken sandwich. The owner and waitstaff are funny and sweet. 100% will return. See you soon!

Sandy & Marge are awesome. Extremely friendly and even a bit sarcastic. We love this little gem. Food is always good and almost too much. Clean atmosphere with a quaint homey feel. Will continue to come back.

Its like eating at your favorite auntie’s house for dinner. Really quaint and almost charming! The food wasn’t the best or worst I’ve had. Big portions! 14 oz prime rib, salad, green beans, twice baked potato, and apple pie (smallest portion). The staff was friendly and accommodating!!!
