I don’t frequently take the time to write a review but this place is worth the time to do it. FANTASTIC food and staff. From the fresh fruits in the cocktails and apps to some of the best entrees around. It’s on par with the best Mexican in Phoenix. The staff is great and the brunette manager is super friendly and professional. A+ food and A+ staff.

Disappointing. This place is very beautiful but my experience was not. I asked for my $18 cocktail to be remade and instead the bartender just poured another ingredient in it and didn’t mix it or just make it from scratch like he should have. We sat with no water for so long the manager came over to apologize. We decided to go and not actually spend our money here, and our server and the manager both were very apologetic and wanting to make it right, we just didn’t feel like staying. The manager did compensate our drink tab so that was very nice of him! Hopefully if and when we return, it goes smoother and we can try the food.

If you want an elevated restaurant to enjoy incredible Mexican food, then Elvira’s is the place for you. Everything we tried on the menu was flavorful. Some people will find the pricing high, but for me, the food was worth the cost.

I dine out 4–5 times a week religiously and have been to over 1,000 establishments across the U.S. (not counting international spots). I was genuinely looking forward to bringing my girlfriend here while my wife was out of town. I try not to write negative reviews based on a single visit, but I don’t want anyone else being let down, so here’s my honest take.

I’d seen some people recommend this place, and while the ambiance is undeniably beautiful—romantic, modern, and inviting—the food simply didn’t measure up. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, and as someone who has traveled nearly every inch of Mexico and enjoyed some of the best authentic Mexican food out there, these were disappointing. What I was served was essentially three tortillas filled with spiced chicken, smothered in something that tasted like straight tomato sauce. It just wasn’t an enchilada.

My girlfriend ordered the salmon, and while she said she enjoyed it, she’s not as seasoned with dining experiences as my wife and I are. To me, the dish (and the meal overall) felt underwhelming for the price point.

So, was the space romantic? Absolutely—100%. The ambiance was beautiful and perfect for a date night. But unfortunately, the food did not justify the cost, and that’s the core of why I can’t recommend Elvira DC Ranch.

Delicious food and the ambiance of the venue is mesmerizing. Love it. Prices a bit on the higher side but very worth it. The chandeliers are beautiful and the staff is very attentive and aim to please. Shout out to Grace who made our evening very enjoyable. The mushrooms appetizer is delicious and the rib eye is also scrumptious. The espresso martini was also spot on. Molcajetes were good also.

This was our first time eating at Elvira’s. We loved the atmosphere, food and service and would return. We found it very pricey and the food was tasty but definitely needs to be spicier, which is what I would expect from any Mexican restaurant. The salsa was perfectly spicy. I’m hoping the chef can add some spice to the rest of the menu items.

One of the best places I’ve ever eaten at. Food was out of this world. Service was above and beyond, and birthday surprise was memorable. Thank you.

We were hesitant to go because of some of the reviews but our experience was good all around. Our servers Britt, along with Chad, were attentive and outgoing. The salsa for the chips was very good. I had the Panko Fried Shrimp Tacos, very spicy, but delicious and the Baby Gem Casear salad which I would definitely have again. My friend had the Chile Relleno and she liked it very much. We both had cocktails which were good, but pricey. The only reason I gave a 4 for atmosphere was because of the music. The inside is gorgeous even though the red glow of the lighting is a bit too much. It was the music that bothered us. Elviras is a cool and hip place, I can see how a young crowd would love it, especially on the weekend, so all I can say is…know your audience. For an early evening dinner on a Tuesday I would not have Techno music playing.

Great atmosphere, slow service. I thought the server was a little rude. Did not think the food was worth the price. Was advised by the server that separate checks was done for large parties, it is on the menu. He was nice enough to provide me with a separate check because I needed to leave. Not sure if the rest of the party if nine was able to get separate checks. I just think that if this is a normal practice it should be provided when making the reservation. Clearer understanding of this practice should be provided.

Elvira’s is absolutely stunning. The atmosphere alone makes it worth the visit. It has a beautiful gothic vibe with a rich interior lit by deep purples and reds. The chandeliers are huge glass centerpieces, and the candle display at the entrance with real candles sets the tone right away. It feels luxurious and romantic, offering a refined take on Mexican dining.

We were seated in a booth that was perfect for two, like a plush little couch overlooking the whole dining room. It was super comfortable and private without feeling isolated. Service was excellent. Water glasses never dipped below half, and the food came out sizzling hot with perfect timing.

The appetizers were impressive, fresh, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. My entrée was good, though not quite what I expected. That was on me for not reading the menu more closely. I’m already looking forward to going back and trying something different.

This place is upscale, artistic, and truly unique for Mexican cuisine in Scottsdale. I’ll definitely be back.
