I frequently post reviews, and rarely do I leave a negative one. However, our recent experience with Subway was disappointing and warrants a warning to others. We ordered takeout for our son’s sleepover, but the food was unfortunately inedible. While we should have checked our order before leaving the store, it’s unacceptable for a food establishment to serve such poorly prepared meals. Specifically, my toddler’s veggie sub was overpowered by an excessive amount of pepper, making it unpalatable. I couldn’t even eat one bite, let alone my 3 year old. My husband’s meatball sub was similarly compromised by an overwhelming amount of jalapeños, which he had to remove by the handful. Two handfuls! It must have been an entire jar of jalapeños. What a waste of food and money for their establishment – this employee needs some serious training. Additionally, my veggie sub was excessively oily, soaking through multiple layers of paper and leaving a puddle of oil on my table. Our son’s sub was overwhelmed by a ridiculous amount of mayonnaise, rendering it soggy and unappetizing. We ultimately discarded most of our food and had to resort to cereal for dinner. To avoid a similar experience, I strongly advise checking your orders carefully before leaving the store if you choose to dine here.

Ordered 2 foot longs online and paid for them… ready for me to pick up. I did not feel a tip was appropriate as no personal service was rendered.
But perhaps I should have because both buns were so dry and hard they broke apart into small pieces. Not just day old bread, but almost fossilized.

This is the second time I’ve gotten a CBR sandwich from this place and both times they have toasted my bread after I haven’t wanted it toasted. I even gave it a second chance thru door dash and made sure I clicked no to the toasted option of my bread. Won’t be going there again.

I think that this subway in James City is the best it’s ever been. It wasn’t always like this. I walked in 2 weeks ago craving a meatball sub. I was greeted by a very pleasant young woman who explained that they now honored the ads for subway! She also told me.about the automatic double cheese on sandwiches. I was so impressed with her info and told her so. She said they was a new owner , which was music to my ears. I’ve had pretty solid experiences coming in for lunch, everyone in there keeps a good attitude and always work fast. I’ve came in a few times during peak lunch rush and within maybe 5 mins at most they’ve already had the line knocked down. Staff especially are super friendly and been great to talk to.

I don’t really ever right reviews but I just had to get on here and say that the two ladies working today that made my sandwich were absolutely amazing!! Not only did they provide great service and greet me as soon as I walked in we actually struck up a conversation and they offered me some words of encouragement!! 10/10 experience would go back just to chat with them again!
