We had a great experience at Holy Cow Restaurant, both dining in and ordering takeaway. The saag paneer was absolutely delicious—rich, fresh, and full of flavor. The plain naan was soft and perfectly cooked.
The service was excellent as well. The Nepali manager was very polite, friendly, and professional, which made the experience even better. Whether you sit in or order takeaway, the food quality and service are consistently great. Highly recommended

A little food story — my first time at Holy Cow!
I had just arrived from Paris to London and was looking for something comforting to eat. I love Indian food, so I searched for a spot nearby. Bingo — Holy Cow! was only 5 minutes from home. Perfect! Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. I had been a little disappointed so far with restaurants in London, and as a French person, I admit I can be picky with food.
I decided to go for a safe choice: butter chicken. A very kind lady welcomed me, the place was calm and cozy, and the prices were really affordable (especially compared to what I’d seen in London). While waiting, they brought me some Indian-style crisps with three sauces — mint, mango, and onion-tomato. The mango sauce exploded with flavor in my mouth, and at that moment, my excitement began to grow.
About 20 minutes later, a wonderful plate was placed in front of me. The aroma alone made me smile. I tore a piece of garlic naan, dipped it in the sauce, and… wow. Amazing. I wanted to cry, the flavors and spices were so rich and perfectly balanced. I even paused the YouTube video I was watching, just to focus and fully appreciate what I was experiencing.
It was in that moment I realized: this is actually my new favorite restaurant in London.

My go-to spot for Indian, and often recommend for celebrations and birthdays, as well as more casual dinners.
The staff are very attentive and welcoming, and the food is delicious. They’re very happy to accommodate dietary requirements and dish adjustments which is a good sign, and everything seems to be cooked fresh and to order.

Visited recently and left feeling underwhelmed. While the menu promised bold flavors and vibrant dishes, the reality didn’t quite match the price tag. At £20–30 per dish, I expected something exceptional—but what I got felt more like takeaway dressed up as fine dining.
The service was polite but minimal—not worth 20% service charge (added on the bill). No real engagement, no warmth, and definitely no attention to detail. It felt transactional, not welcoming.
If you’re looking for a memorable Indian meal in Canary Wharf, this might not be the best value. Plenty of other spots nearby offer better food and friendlier vibes for less

I was a bit hesitant at first when I saw the restaurant being so quiet (we were the only ones there at the time) but I decided to give them a try based on all the stellar reviews I read here.

We have found the food to be very good, full of flavour and aromatic spices but the service was not attentive which it was a shame as the experience would have been much better. We will be going back again as we have enjoyed the food.
