I recently tried Wild Chicken in Fairfax and was disappointed, especially compared to District Chicken in DC, which I’ve had before and loved. The overall meal tasted overly greasy, which seemed to mute the spices and give everything a heavy, salty flavor rather than the layered seasoning you expect from good Peruvian chicken. The chicken itself was somewhat dry and tasted primarily of salt, which suggests it may have been held under heat too long or reheated, causing the moisture to evaporate and the salt to dominate instead of the garlic, cumin, and other spices.
The green sauce was another letdown. Instead of being thick, vibrant, and herb-forward, it was watery and slightly spicy but lacked real flavor and freshness. A proper ají verde should be creamy and bright, and this one felt diluted.
The yucca fries seemed undercooked, with a dense white interior that felt harsh and almost raw rather than tender and fluffy. Instead of being properly boiled and then crisped, they were firm, bland, and lacked the soft texture good yucca should have. The plantains were also disappointing — somewhat mushy and greasy, without the caramelized sweetness and slight crispness that make them enjoyable.
Overall, the experience felt more like an execution issue than a problem with the cuisine itself, with excessive grease, dryness, and undercooked sides taking away from what should have been a flavorful meal.

Really good chicken! Extremely fresh!! I am Latina and have had bad experiences with Peruvian chicken I went in to Wild Chicken asking for “today’s chicken” and they didn’t find it funny. They work soo hard early morning so everything you get is extremely fresh!! The costume service is very nice.

Most delicious Peruvian chicken in Nova!!! I come here weekly!!! The staff is very friendly and always very accommodating! Have never had a horrible experience here. The chicken is always made fresh and the sauces are amazing. I am Peruvian native and I can 100% guarantee that this restaurant serves authentic Peruvian food.

Our church loves getting peruvian chicken and yucca from this place. We’ve been a loyal customer since they opened more than 10 years ago. If you’re in the area, I would recommend this spot.

I am Peruvian and I approve this chicken. It was DELICIOUSLY SEASONED and I felt it in my heart. I ate everything, including the kidneys hahaha. I was so happy about it that I stopped for a moment and thanked the universe for this place and the people working in it. No kidding, it was THAT good!!!

Mi gente, este restaurante tiene buenísima sazón. Recomendado 100%.

Wild Chicken is our go-to chicken spot! The owners are such amazing people and go out of their way to make you feel like you’re part of the family. We came here to grab dinner tonight after not having been for far too long and it reminded me why we come here. They are just amazing people and amazing food! No other chicken spots compare! We love Wild Chicken!

Exceptional Peruvian chicken. We’ll priced, well cooked, well seasoned.

These guys know what they are doing.

The only regret I have is not trying this place earlier.

Definitely a must try!

I wanted this place to be good because a friend highly recommended it, but I was disappointed. The chicken was a bit overdone and dry, and the yucca definitely melted the plate and got all the good cancer in it. Their sauces were not as good either, the white one was watery and the spicy sauce didnt taste fresh. The prices were not great, the chicken combos were maybe a dollar cheaper than other Peruvian chicken places, but the sides were a dollar extra. Portions were a little small too, salad was a half filled cup of mostly iceberg hearts. Super Chicken and Guapos are both way better as far as food quality. Even if the chicken was great, which it isn’t, I would not eat there because I don’t like getting extra cancer from melted cheap styrofoam plates.

Horrible experience. Had one bite and walked out the door immediately after. Horrible taste I felt like I was chewing on a tire. I felt like I was biting the toughest piece of boiled beef in the world. It didn’t even taste good either.
