Do not go to Sam’s Italian in Topsham, Maine. The food is oversauced, over greasy, slimy and falling apart and the bottom is burnt. This is disgusting. I don’t know how you can put this in a box and serve this to somebody that paid you money with a straight face… cannot recommend this

I saw that this place had some not so good reviews and I don’t understand why. The pizza was some of the best I have ever had. We were traveling from out of town and not sure of where to eat. Sam’s popped up and we said, ” let’s try it.” Not sure of what to order, one of the employees showed us thier specials and we went with that. They saved us money and provided excellent customer service and food. I would highly recommend this place for the pizza at least.

Pizza was good and I would come back without hesitation. Only thing that was a little disappointing was the size of the pizza. I got the medium and it fit entirely on the paper plate. A little small for the price.

As you walk in you are hit with th amazing scent of all the fresh foods. It really makes it hard to decide what you want. I ordered a meatball parm and it definitely did not disappoint! DELICIOUS! I will be back to try the other menu items!!

This is a Chicken Salad Italian, and probably the wettest chicken salad I’ve ever had. Also a ridiculous amount of pickles, that were seemingly taken straight from the pickle jar dripping wet with pickle brine and tossed into the sandwich. So I’d recommend not getting this.
Your Turkey Italian is bomb though.

I went in & got a large ham italian with no tomatoes, with regular amounts of oil, salt & pepper. I saw a short, slim female washing lettuce with no gloves on & I made a comment about it being very unsanitary, shs was washing the lettuce, went to the walk in freezer, came back & answered the phone, then went back to the lettuce & never washed her hands or put gloves on. The lady at the register heard me & was wearing a shift leader name tag & shirt. The shift leader never said anything to the girl doing food prep with no gloves on. The shift leader made my sandwich, put very few onions on & loaded it with more oil than you could imagine. There was probably 3-4 tablespoons on just one large italian. She then bagged my sandwich, threw it on the counter, rolled her eyes & said my number as she walked away. She never once said anything along the lines of “Thank you, have a good day.” I will not be going back to this location.

The service is better than most places, we don’t need to carry the food to our table, it’s delivered to us. The one thing this trip, we didn’t get our rewards , our card has been registered. First time here or any Sam’s, we ordered an Italian and 2 steak and cheeses. The Italian was tasteless and the vegetables on the steak and cheese were cold and not made the way we asked (missing mayonnaise, asked for no green peppers but they were on there).
We were also given the incorrect sub the first time and the employee told the gentleman whose sub it was that someone “took their tuna sandwich” when it was handed to my husband and told it was my Italian.
Prices were high for the quality of food… definitely will not be returning!
