Subway is a great chain and relatively healthy. Many years ago when I was growing up in the south side of Chicago there was only one subway and it was 45 minutes away in Joliet. My friends and I would drive there a few times each summer just to go, and now they are everywhere. The breads are excellent and most of the things that I’ve had here been very good. They used to have a seafood salad sub which was my favorite, but I haven’t seen it in forever. Now I go to is the meatball sandwich with extra sauce which is messy but delicious. The subway is open until 10 PM which makes it one of the handful places in Colfax that’s open late And late at night. It’s not busy. At lunchtime, the lines can be long.

Giving 2 stars because the young lady did her job well, otherwise it would be 0 if I could.
The bread is hard, overcooked, and flavorless. I got half the meat other Subways put in the same sandwich and the young lady said she isn’t allowed to add more. 3 slices of each instead of the 5-6 other branches include. She was not trained for food allergies, but she did ask and learn.
Very poor experience. We’ll avoid this one from now on.

I’ve reviewed over 500 restaurants on Google and rarely give out 2 star reviews.. Sadly Subway in Colfax gets 2 stars. I made an online order here for $30, and when I showed up I was informed their toaster oven was broken and that they can’t toast any sandwiches. The employee said “they were going to call me, but they were kinda busy” and he was outside shoveling snow so he thought the other employee had called me when they didn’t. (THEY WERE NOT BUSY BY THE WAY) SO Instead of calling the customer (me) to let me change my order or to let me know that they can’t toast sandwiches, they made the sandwiches anyways “Untoasted” A subway sandwich is drastically different when it’s toasted, compared to not. They are required to call customers in this situation but they didn’t care and they didn’t want to. Not only that, but I told the employee I wanted money off my order or a coupon for the next time I come in because of this mess up. He called the manager (DELTA) and she said NO to taking money off my order and NO to any sort of coupon for next time!! All they did was write down my name and say that the next time I’m in they’ll “try” a coupon. This is not my first time experiencing this type of terrible service here! This Subway is poorly managed, has employees who don’t care about their local customers and they don’t care it seems. I’m never going to this subway again and I suggest you do the same.

I understand being busy, but charging for a full cup of soup and only giving out half a cup is wrong. And my mom’s sandwich only had like 6 tiny pieces of lettuce on it. Not to mention if you can’t remember the information being given to you…how are you a manager?

Edit: I love this Subway so much but the bread is killing it for me. Still over baked and hard. I decided to give them another try again today and still the same issue. Something is wrong with the oven or they are just baking the bread too long. Disappointing when Subway is so expensive. 9-6-2025

I go to this Subway quite a bit and the only complaint I really have is they cook their bread too long. It’s supposed to be nice a soft and there’s is always hard. 🙁 Otherwise, clean store and friendly staff.

Honestly, there aren’t a lot of options in the area, but it was what I wanted at the moment. It was a little busy, but they had 3 people behind the counter, so it went quickly. Everyone was polite.
I appreciate that they had a freestyle fountain machine — I hadn’t seen one at a Subway before that, but I don’t go all the time.

The place is nice and clean. People are nice and kind. Workers sound a little confused about how to make their sandwiches and what options they have. They are pretty inconsistent in making their subs. I had a few in the past couple of months and, always ordering the same thing and still always getting something different. This past week, the container with lettuce also had onions, olives, tomatoes, and cucumber. Maybe there is some cross-contamination based on that—lots of potential to be improved.

I wish I had caught his name but he genuinely makes the experience ordering here a pleasure
The sandwiches themselves are good, just right and never have any complications or issues.

The lady there was rude wouldnt add veggies to my sub she put them in a cup told me to do it, she also says if you have more than 2 subs to order you have to get catering or order online because she been there since blah blah blah so guess if you have a family dont go here not worth the argument and bad service
