The chef needs mega praise so awesome. first time customer this will be our go to place from now on. We live in Davenport and it’s a 15 minute drive
We entered to find a bright and open space with menu selections served cafeteria style. For a reasonable price you select a generous portion of different types of rice, numerous meat selections (several options of pork, chicken or beef) and your choice of sides. Being our first visit, the server pleasantly walked us each through our choices and served a LOT of food into the Styrofoam serving containers. The two of us dined for about $35 plus tip, including a can of Coke each.
My wife was impressed with her chicken in a white sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed my bone-in bbq pork ribs. We both had black beans in rice and cole slaw. The rice & beans were flavorful if a little dry. The slaw was tasty and better than average. The neat, however, was delicious!
After eating our full (neither of us could clean our plates) we agreed that we would definitely choose this again. I very much recommend you stop in and give it a try!
Portions are generous for the price.
There can be a language barrier for English speakers. The building has a noticeable odor, which affects the overall atmosphere.
You get a lot of food, however the food was really greasy and under seasoned.
We got oven roasted chicken and it was sitting in a puddle of oil. The yellow rice tasted fishy which isn’t normal.
I believe they are new to the area as the restaurant looked like it was still under construction with ladders in the entrance. The other thing I think would have been nice is knowing how to order and how it worked upon arrival as mentioned it was our first time here and not only were we lost as to where the line started and what was included in a meal but the person behind the counter serving the food was rushing us.
UPDATE: I wonder why they have the pictures feature turned off? I have several pictures of the dead cockroaches. I’ll make sure the state dept. receives the pictures
