Chop Suey Restaurant (韦氏酒家) – Solid Chinese comfort food in Miami
We visited Chop Suey Restaurant (韦氏酒家) after going to the Sex Museum, and it turned out to be a pleasant find in a quiet residential area. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive.
We ordered spicy chicken and braised beef brisket with radish. Portions were generous — easily enough for two people to share. The spicy chicken was decent and very good with rice, while the beef brisket was tender but a bit sweeter than expected for our taste. All dishes came with complimentary steamed rice, and Chinese tea or water was provided for free, which we appreciated.
We noticed many local diners ordering the fried chicken, which looked delicious — unfortunately, we were only two people and couldn’t try more dishes.

I ordered a shrimp lo mein, and ended up with combination of lots of questionable meat and requested general tso and general tso did not show up! But at least the shrimp are big.

The best Chinese food I’ve had in Florida.
Nice size portions and the bestr flavor I’ve seen in this state.
The service was amazing, very polite and friendly staff.

I’m leaving this negative review because of the staff, which is incredibly disappointing since the food itself is actually very good. Unfortunately, dealing with the staff is a nightmare—they are consistently rude and unprofessional.
My in-laws enjoy the food, so we end up ordering from here occasionally, but I only do so through online delivery to avoid interacting with anyone, including the owner. Even then, despite placing the order myself to prevent any confusion, I’ve still had multiple issues with missing food.

What needs to be said immediately is that Chop Suey has amazing food. The staff speaks English and Spanish and are very friendly. The tea is always hot and the egg rolls are crispy. This is by far our Chinese food place to go restaurant. When we dine in the phone is ringing off the hook for Take-out and Delivery. Must haves are the Mongolian Beef and Special Fried Rice plenty of Parking Spaces available.

We drove 20 minutes away from where I live to celebrate my dad’s birthday, let me tell you this place does not disappoint. I wouldn’t expect the options to be some Hispanic cuisines in it as well, the sweet & sour chicken with white meat it was delicious, the fried rice was hot when it came out, that’s good to know they prepare it fresh! Chop suey was also good too. I didn’t know they have bread as an entree lol! The server was nice and patient with us as we ordered, other then that everything went well, will definitely come back again

The food tasted pretty good, and the closest to authentic Chinese food we can get in Miami. One thing to watch out for is the tax rate. I believe it should be 7% in Miami but this restaurant charged us 8%. I’m from out of town, but been to other restaurants all charged 7%. Not sure why this restaurant charged higher. This is why I took one star off.
