What a great meal and what wonderful service! We were actually a little concerned about some less than stellar reviews, but we enjoyed our lunch immensely. Our sommelier Gabriel and our server Monica were both very personable and efficient. Our escargots, soupe de poissons and mussels were all excellent. (Though the soup could have been hotter.) Our only regret is that we didn’t leave room for dessert.

This place is more than amazing. After long day of traveling, we decided to try this French Bistro. And just to say, it exceeded our expectations. Ambiance is cosy, and service impeccable and elegant. A must try is a Camembert Souffle. We will definitely come back in the future. Special comments to Michele and the rest of the team, they made us feel like home!

Joséphine is an absolute gem — a place where authentic French elegance meets genuine hospitality. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere transports you straight to Paris. The décor is charming and intimate, with soft lighting and classic French details that set the perfect mood.

The food is nothing short of exceptional. Every dish is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor — from the rich, buttery escargots to the perfectly cooked duck confit and the most delicate crème brûlée I’ve ever tasted in London. You can truly tell that every ingredient and recipe has been chosen with care and passion.

Service is warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional — the staff know their wines and are happy to recommend the perfect pairing.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving authentic French cuisine, Joséphine offers the best French dining experience in London. It’s elegant, authentic, and unforgettable — a restaurant that captures the true spirit of France.

We had a wonderful dinner here and really enjoyed the classic French dishes. The sole meunière, beef with Béarnaise sauce, cheese soufflé, and chicken foie were all excellent. The french onion soup was not made the way I enjoy.

The atmosphere felt very old-world French — white tablecloths but not stuffy or pretentious. The service was absolutely outstanding. Our server, Akim, was attentive and thoughtful, and Gabriel, the sommelier, was both knowledgeable and approachable, pairing each dish perfectly with wine.

If you’re looking for a classic French dining experience with exceptional service, this restaurant is well worth a visit.

We had a great lunch, food was delicious, very french as you would expect, good service. Be aware coffee is not cheap 5.50 + 12.5% for single espresso. And there was a mistake with our bill which was quickly rectified, otherwise a lovely meal.

Josephine – 10/10.

Cute interior, good vibes. The French onion soup and beef tartare were so good, I’d get the tartare again just for the garlic bread. Top tip: dip the garlic bread into the French onion soup, it’s unreal.

For dessert, you need the banana split. Literally insane and the perfect way to end a meal that’s on the pricier side overall, but 100% worth it.

I can only speak to having drinks and a light snack here on a couple of occasions, but it’s a beautiful restaurant in a lovely setting in Marylebone Village. It’s a great place to sit outside and people-watch. In winter, they offer warm blankets and heaters too. I highly recommend the hot chocolate. The waiters are highly professional, friendly, and attentive.

Firstly the ambiance of the restaurant is upmarket French bistro and they have got this just right. My only criticism is that it gets noisy when busy. I started with the cheese soufflé which was a masterpiece. Light and well balanced in flavour with a rich sauce. I gather it is a signature dish here. I followed with duck confit with lentils and a rich mustard sauce which was excellent. My dessert of rhubarb and pistachio was merely average. The flavours did not come out, it needed to be sweeter and the portion size was too small. The restaurant provides bread, water and an appetiser for a £2.50 cover, excellent value. Service was amazing, extremely professional, possibly the best on London it is that good. We showed interest in a trout starter and our server gave us a complimentary plate to try it. I used to frequent Galvin Bistro Deluxe on a weekly basis and think it the best restaurant I have ever been to. Josephine’s reminded me of that. Looking forward to my next and many future visits.
