⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Solid Pizza with Room for Improvement
I recently ordered the Everest pizza and Jalapeño Not-Knots from Mountain Mike’s Pizza and had a mixed experience. I specifically asked for both items to be cooked crispy, but unfortunately, they arrived soft—not crispy at all. That was disappointing, especially since I was looking forward to that texture.
I also ordered a side of marinara sauce, which turned out to be a letdown. It was so dry and thick that I couldn’t even dip my knots in it. It felt like a waste of money and definitely not up to standard.
That said, the flavor of both the pizza and the knots was above average. The Everest pizza had a generous amount of toppings overall, but the bacon was sparse—some slices had only a sliver, despite paying extra for it. That felt like another letdown. On the bright side, the Jalapeño Not-Knots were packed with jalapeños, which I appreciated. They didn’t skimp on those, and everything tasted fresh.
One standout positive was the inclusion of condiments like red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese—something I rarely get from places like Domino’s, Pizza Hut, or Little Caesars.
Overall, while the execution missed the mark on a few key details (crispiness, dry marinara, and skimpy bacon), the quality and flavor of the food were solid. Because of the taste and thoughtful extras, I’m giving this a 4-star rating, though I was initially leaning toward 3 stars due to the issues.
Tip for the restaurant: When customers make specific requests—especially on small orders—please take the time to read and honor them. It makes a big difference.⸻

Mountain Mike’s is a typically a solid, reliable choice for delicious pizza made with quality ingredients, and you can tell that from a picture of their pizza alone. That being said, this was my first time visiting in person instead of ordering delivery. What a mistake.

I placed my order at 20:38, arrived at 20:59 and, according to their email, was just 2 minutes early for the pick-up time, perfect. Well the younger gal that was working at the front seemed new to a customer facing role and was barely audible, which is still understandable. I said my name and that i was there for a pick-up, and was met with a, “huh.” Wash, rinse, and repeat a couple of times until I was confident that she understood.

I proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for my food, which should have been my first indication that something was off. But when, “pick-up ready,” was called and she looked at me, she only had one box. Perplexed, I asked where the other item is and was given the blank stare synonymous with a retail worker who knows something is messed up, but not what to do.

I would like to point out, that while this single person was manning the counter, another idly wiped the same two tables, and two men in the kitchen were leaning on the pass on the kitchen side just yapping away. There was one guy in the back who looked to have been doing all of the cooking solo, while an unfairly unprepared employee was left to fend for herself and three people were just screwing around.

I ended up finally getting my food, that had been sitting in the kitchen getting cold, I wasn’t even given an apology for the error. Let alone an attempt to remedy the situation.

Food is awesome, the employees seem good, everything about the experience however screams poor leadership in the store.

I went into Mountain Mikes Smokey point location after work to try the garlic knots. I’d already been to the restaurant a few days earlier and got cheese sticks and had an okay experience but had a long wait time (35 minutes) for such a small order with the establishment not being busy (I was told a 10 minute wait time) and the cheese sticks were okay, but came back hoping it was just a fluke. I ordered the garlic Not-knots from a young employee working the evening shift. After paying I asked how long it would take to get my order, the girl at the counter told me about 7 minutes. I come back into the store 10 minutes later and am told my order will be another couple minutes. So after the 5 minute mark I come back in and am told again that my order needs just a couple more minutes still. I walk back into the store a couple minutes later and the girl then tells me that my order somehow rang in as wings, not garlic knots and is going to be another 5 minutes. At this point I’m now a half hour into what was supposed to be a 7 minute wait, which then turns into about a 50 minute wait after the mixup and wrong wait time estimations. The girl at the counter was not very friendly and incredibly difficult to hear as well as no eye contact and to top it off, after finally receiving my order almost an hour later, the initial flavor is good but the dough has an odd, almost cardboard like flavor and odd aftertaste. I Was super bummed with both experiences and hope as time goes on this relatively newer restaurant for the area, works out its kinks and is successful.

We finally decided to give Mountain Mike’s a try after hearing the bad reviews from Facebook about long wait times and order mistakes. We ordered the large Chicken Club pizza and a create your own family size salad. We placed an online carry out order at 5:31pm, it said the order would be ready at 6:21pm, we arrived at 6:10 pm. The person behind the counter greeted us and we met her know we had an online order for pickup. She went to the window and asked the cooks in the back how long, she came back and said it would be another 15 minutes, not a problem they looked super busy with orders for delivery as there were few door dash drivers sitting and waiting. We found a table and sat down to wait. And we waited and waited. After 30 minutes we went back up and asked about the status of our order and she went back to window and asked again, this time the cook said he didn’t even have our ticket and he would make it right away, we asked about how long it would be, he said 7 minutes, we said ok we’re heading over to safeway to grab some things and would be back. We got back and still no pizza but it came out soon after. The lady behind the counter gave us our pizza and said sorry for the wait. We asked about the salad and she apologized again and started making it, so we sat down again and ate a couple of slices as we waited again. The pizza had a burnt taste even though it was not burnt, like when something in the oven is burnt on to the oven itself. The sauce was a lighter then i would have expected from a thick crust pizza but not horrible, making the pizza a little on the drier side. The toppings on the pizza seemed as advertised, fresh and not cheap substitutes. As she was making the salad she informed me they were out of the spring mix, so we substituted the garden mix, as she was making it she stopped several times to help for dash drivers, then she informed us they were out of olives and cheddar cheese mix as well. She offered to substitute other items instead and we declined because at this point it was already after 7. When she handed us the salad we were highly disappointed. The bacon was not real bacon but the fake bac’n bits, she had put sliced tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes, and the cucumbers looked like they had been frozen. We asked for a refund on the salad and were informed we would have call back the next day as there was no manager there that could give us a refund. I called this morning and the person who answered was polite and promptly refunded the salad without me speaking to the manager.

This Pizza place was a nice place to stop for lunch. The pepperoni pizza was quite delicious, and their salad bar had alot of options to choose from. The environment was clean and had plenty of seating. The service was great as well. The cashier was polite and brought my food to me when it was ready. Personally, I’m not big on veggies on pizza so it was hard to tell if the pizza that I ate that had veggies on it was good or not, which is one reason why I am only giving this place a 4 Star review. The other thing that is a bit frustrating is the fact it is on the busiest intersection in Smokey Point and was somewhat difficult to get into their parking lot. For pizza lovers, I highly recommend trying this restaurant out. For people looking to get the most bang for their bucks, I highly recommend their all you can eat pizza and salad bar lunch special that starts at 11am. Handicap accessible. Family friendly…

We walked in and ordered to go. It was 25 min from order to hot pizza on a very busy day, which I consider quite good. We ordered 2 pizzas, the Chicken Luau and Snowy Alps. The toppings were generous and done right. My grilled chicken was flavourful and not bland at all. The crust was that perfect combo of chewy but crisp on the outside. Not too thick! I also liked the smaller slices of pizza, much nicer for eating. The only negative for me, was the BBQ sauce. It was much lighter than I would have preferred. What I did taste of it was great, I would have liked more. Overall, great pizza, good service and we will order again.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza has a spicy tomato sauce and great crispy pepperoni on a thicker than expected crust with a just right amount of cheese. The pepperoni is the standout! Parking is tight so better off to park in the Safeway lot when they’re busy. The service has definitely improved from when they first opened.

I went for the $12.99 lunch special. As you can see there was no pizza and the few slices that were left were disgusting. If i had to describe the pizza, I would say something like “dried out day old Little Caesar’s (like the Hot’N’Ready with the extra Pepperonis but over a day old and reheated in the microwave about an hour ago). The lunch special is from 11-2 PM. I arrived at 12 pm and i sat there for an hour waiting for them to bring out more food and they did not. They were out of lettuce at the salad bar, and the drink dispenser had no syrup in it. If you’re selling a buffet and there is no food then you better start handing out refunds. I will never EVER be returning.

**EDIT: 2/15/25 – DISAPPOINTING SECOND ATTEMPT:

I decided to give them another try, assuming that with more time in operation, any initial issues would have been resolved. While there were some improvements, my overall experience remained underwhelming.

On a positive note, my order was prepared more efficiently this time, done in 25 minutes instead of over an hour. Additionally, the pizza was served at an appropriate temperature, and the staff was friendly and engaging. However, these positives were overshadowed by the quality of the food.

I ordered the heart-shaped pepperoni pizza for Valentine’s Day, expecting it to match the advertised “mountain of pepperoni.” To ensure a fair comparison, I also added mushrooms, just as I had during my previous visit. Unfortunately, while there was a slight improvement, the amount of mushrooms still fell short of expectations.

Additionally, I reordered the garlic knots, hoping for a better experience. While I did receive them this time, they were overcooked, hard, and lacking any noticeable garlic flavor, making them virtually inedible.

Given that this was my second attempt, I don’t plan to return. I appreciate the friendly service, but the inconsistency in food quality says there is still significant room for improvement. I added an extra star to service. **

ORIGINAL VISIT:
I placed my order online at 4:30 PM and only after paying did I see a message saying it would take an hour. No problem—I did some shopping and arrived 10 minutes early.

The staff seemed overwhelmed. The young girl at the counter struggled to find my order, even after I spelled my name and provided my phone number. After showing my confirmation email, she simply shrugged and said, “I don’t know what to tell you.” Thankfully, another employee stepped in and eventually found it—10 minutes later.

I finally got my pizza, only to find it was cold. For a $30 pie, I expected more than a few scattered pepperonis and tissue-thin mushrooms. Their website boasts a “mountain” of crispy, curly pepperoni—what I got didn’t even resemble a small hill. And why did it look like it was assembled by Frankenstein?!

The garlic knots I was most excited for? They were out, yet still available to order online. No one called to let me know, and I had to wait an hour just to find out. They promised a refund, but I doubt I’ll see that money.

The whole operation felt chaotic—orders lost, tickets scattered, and no warmers to keep pizzas hot. Even budget chains do better.

As for the pizza itself? Cold, chewy crust, minimal toppings, and an overall underwhelming experience. I had high hopes for this place, but they have a lot to fix. I’ll check back in a few months—if they’re still around—because this town needs a good pizza spot. Here’s hoping they improve.

Hi as a cook at a restaurant (high dinning) my wife brought home a pizza from here. Said “they offered for free”(some reason) on a door dash order she was on last night.(Oct.22,2025) And today before I got up for work about 3am she wake up screaming because the pain her stomach in some kind of food poisoning.. She had four slices of it and tried to offer our son some but luckily we just finished dinner because she was trying to surprise us with pizza she was super happy, my son loves pizza but was full and I don’t eat pork… Pizza going to the health department to test to see if it’s good or not. But again as a cook for a long time I have no issue saying just suck hard for businesses to thrive with today economy… Check your food and date them. When do the flipping on cleanup don’t put new stuff with old stuff I see this a lot in the field. Make sure your staff understands one a/whole can hurt the business from one bad employees bad choice…. Reading the comments from good to bad and first time personally having a experience from here in any form specially from a free pizza, leads me to think. 5stars are from friends and family, while the rest people experience from here
(not saying some 5 not from random people).

So I say go double check dates the owner gets new fresh start clean pans taste test the food make .. I’d start with the meats and sauce last time flipped and new fresh from flip not putting old stuff in with new stuff…

One day I go here order few things and leave another review
