My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our lunch today. She had the pulled chicken platter with slaw. I had pulled pork with their awesome loaded potato salad. Both of us had the excellent baked beans too! The atmosphere is very friendly and quaint. The ladies were extremely nice and helpful. If you love barbecue for the food not the frills, this is the place in Kingsport to go. Highly recommend.

The BEST POTATO SALAD I’VE EVER HAD!! All of it was amazing! Had the brisket sandwich, hubby had the pulled pork sandwich. Well worth the extra 7 minutes off the highway to get great local BBQ. Should we pass through this area again, we will definitely be stopping for more!!

Ribs were incredible. Fell off the bone and were super tasty. Beans were so good that I could stay there and eat beans all night.

Went on a Thursday, dead besides one other customer, staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, didn’t have ribs available, but the pulled pork nachos with beans was delicious. Would definitely visit with friends again when in the area.

Their BBQ and sides are delicious. The person who took our phone order and the young lady that checked us out were both wonderful. The atmosphere is down to earth and welcoming. Also, we love their sweets! I highly recommend Bare Bones BBQ!

They only have ribs and brisket on Friday and Saturday. So, all 3 of us ordered the pulled pork platter. One looked like finely chopped pork, 2 looked like chunks of pork. Odd, but ok.
The pork had a mediocre flavor, a bit dry. The sauces: nothing unique, and some watered down. We tried all 4 sides: beans, Mac n cheese, potato salad and coleslaw. Sadly, they all tasted like they were from a bulk can. The room temperature Country Time lemonade was ok once the ice was stirred around for awhile.
The service was fast.
They have plenty of awards on the walls, so maybe we just went on an off night. But, I’m still confused why the same pork could look so different on different plates.

Wow!!! We went today with our baby girl and it was absolutely amazing. In fact it was probably the best bbq chicken we ever had. The owner was wonderful, the staff polite and attentive and the food amazing. I wish we lived closer, we probably would eat here everyday. Don’t miss it!

Fantastic BBQ! A must try is the BBQ Nachos, chicken or pork, unbelievably addictive! The chicken nachos were so good I went back the next night to try the pork, both great but I liked the chicken best. Memphis is their House Special BBQ Sauce and it’s heavenly!
