Phenomenal experience here this morning, Olivia was an absolute delight and very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. She made the experience wonderful, great server. The food was awesome, the maple hot sauce wasn’t my favorite but it doesn’t mean it was bad because my wife loved it so just preference. Potatoes were crispy and cooked, seasoned decently well. Wife had the chowder and LOVED it, fresh and flavorful every bite hit the mark and it reminded her of her mothers she used to make so that was a nice addition to the meal. 11/10 would recommend giving this place a shot if you are looking for a great dining experience. Restaurant was clean and well kept as were the bathrooms, great playlist that fit the atmosphere as well. Great job yall!

The fried green tomato was incredible! The potatoes were crispy and cooked perfectly. The basil lemonade was sweet and refreshing. Chicken was juicy and matched with perfect pepper jam. This was our favorite meal on our trip. Shoutout to the whole staff. Our waitress was just all the best energy. She had coffee cup earrings and chucks on….she truly couldn’t have been any cooler. The Saturday afternoon crew was top tier. Do yourself a solid and stop at this spot. Thank you!

This place was so yummy we ate here three times on our trip:

On a trip to Camden in late December, we were warmed each morning with delicious breakfast from Buttermilk. Although we enjoy eating at different places, this place was so yummy we returned thrice. The service was amazing, food served with a smile.

On the first morning we ate at a half booth in the back, perfect for a couple (not so good for larger people) but the view of the frozen harbor was lovely. I ate the chicken and grits with eggs over easy. Never have I ever enjoyed chicken for breakfast so much. The chicken was perfectly crispy, the grits had pimento cheese and was drizzled with a sweet and spicy something. Yum. My partner had a traditional scrambled egg breakfast, and Olivia introduced us to the blueberry jam to accompany the biscuits.

In our return visit, I intentionally ordered the fried green tomato melt, the special of the day. It hit the spot, and if you have never tried fried green tomatoes, they have them on the menu I highly recommend them. They are slightly pickled, served with Alabama Ranch.

On New Year’s Day we were summoned back to Camden because we left something behind, and the blueberry basil preserves beckoned us back for more drop biscuits. I had the corned beef cabbage soup for brekky because- why not?!

We plan to return next year to visit Olivia, Erin and Allie and stock up on more blueberry and basil jam. Say hi for me when you stop in for a bite!

We’re visiting from Texas and ate here each day for breakfast. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was great! The biscuits and gravy are to die for! We will definitely return on our next trip to Maine

I’m conflicted writing this review. I love the food but, I want to keep the Buttermilk Kitchen for myself! Generous portions of flavor-rich food. Friendly staff. Sturdy black coffee. Simple and functional space with a focus on the food made this meal a 5-star experience. Can’t wait to return.

It might be little, but it has a mighty taste! So far we have eaten here twice during our visit. The BLUEBERRY BASIL JAM is amazing! We had country breakfast, corn beef hash, chicken and biscuit, and the special lobster plate – we were told it’s only served on Saturday and Sunday’s. Our server, Kinsley (I hope it’s correct), was super sweet, talkative, and welcoming. Thank you for making breakfast memorable on our trip. 2 jars of jam heading home with us to share the yumminess with family

I have traveled all over the United States. And I can probably state that this has been the best biscuits and gravy I’ve had. It was very fast service. The views were wonderful. I would go back again in a heartbeat. I have already added it to my list of places to go. I highly recommend this place.
I did add two eggs to the biscuits and gravy, which definitely is something I like to do so I think it’s necessary for them. But I think you’d be happy even if you didn’t. But I just think everyone should go here.

Best breakfast in Maine! Great service, great food, beautiful location. Wonderful kid portions. Savory blueberry pancakes. The only thing that was missing was a Bloody Mary option but the cappuccino was delicious! Definitely worth the wait that you will probably have but it’s nice they text you and let you know what spot you are in line as time passes and you can wonder around town and shop. Oh and the fried pickled green tomatoes were awesome!

Unbelievably good. A cute spot with amazing food and service.

Highly recommend the biscuit donuts as an appetizer.

My fiance got the biscuits and gravy and they had awesome flavor.

I got the chicken biscuit sandwich and it had excellent crunch and flavor and a delicious spicy jam on it.

Their coldbrew was also delicious.

Whatever the wait time is, it’s worth it.

We went in on Saturday around lunch and it was quite busy. We waited about 30 minutes for a table.

Food was tasty and came out quickly! The buttermilk biscuits and the red pepper jam were definitely the stars of the show. The eggs were also very tasty and they had a yummy hot sauce! The blueberry basil lemonade and the latte were quite good!

Our server was very slow, (the food came out before she even brought us waters) however the rest of the wait staff were phenomenal! Cute restaurant. Nice place to visit! Highly recommend!
