I went to Z’s Pizza and Diner for the first time tonight and LOVED it! My friend and I were immediately greeted and seated by a very pleasant and friendly server. Then, another server, who was equally friendly and pleasant, was there immediately to take our drink orders and then our food orders.
We got a large Captain pizza (supreme) and pop. Let me tell you, the pizza was A-MAZ-ING!! One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried a lot of pizza from a variety of restaurants). The crust was perfect, the meats and veggies were fresh, the pizza sauce was , and the cheese was ooey gooey goodness!! The pop was refreshing, too.
Plus, I absolutely loved the decor! 80’s and 90’s movie posters and albums along the walls. I also loved the decor in the Ladies restroom (hint: if you’re a fan of Friends, you will too!). Everything was clean and classy.
The servers, again, were all very kind and welcoming. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Z’s and I look forward to coming back and trying more of your delicious food!! Thank you for the fantastic experience!! ❤

Fast and friendly staff!
The pizza was good. We had the Hawaiian minus the green peppers…I like either a thinner crispy crust or a deep dish style so the crust was the only downside to me.
It was still a good pizza don’t get me wrong…we will definitely be back.

Decent pizza stop. We had a long table by the door so all night it was a brush of winter air every time someone entered. Pizza was good and served hot. Server was nice. Only issues I had was there security system cameras would have light activate randomly around the restaurant while we were there. The fried cauliflower appetizer was not cooked and there was raw batter in the cauliflower when you took a bite.

Got the breaded veggie combo for an appetizer to share…..the onion rings were huge! Large portions of each veggie with whatever dipping sauce you like. Our server, Olivia, was amazing!! All food was prepared perfectly, and delicious! Definitely recommend, 5 stars all around!

Just trying to figure out how I got a well done(I was never offered the option of how I wanted my burger)mushroom Swiss burger in less than 7 minutes?
The slice of tomato was bigger than the burger pattie itself,and had zero flavor.
$17 for a burger that I could have got at kwik star…atleast the cottage cheese was good.
Gave 2 stars because my wife and daughter said their food was decent.

Excellent food. The best coleslaw in the cedar valley! The staff are great and answer all of your questions. The only issues I found was the lack of a formal parking lot, and the venue can get a little loud. Otherwise, bravo and recommended.

Today was our first time to Z’s Pizza and diner in Waverly, Iowa. It was okay, the menu was kind of small if you’re looking for something besides pizza. They did have a decent list of sandwiches as well as sides. Our waitress was very nice and did a good job.

First experience eating here was was not the greatest.. left pretty disappointed and unsatisfied. My daughter ordered a cheese pizza boat, which has always to me and everyone I know us pizza on a French bread/ garlic bread.. so to our surprise it showed up as sauce and cheese in a dish. So i asked for a cheese pizza instead cuz we didn’t know that pizza boat ment dish… waitress apologized and said she should have told us…. My pizza was a little over cooked and I tasted burnt crust with every bite. Would have been okay if not burnt bottom.. . and to top it off I was still charged for the small amount of cheese and sauce in the dish that we didn’t eat. So needless to say I took it home for the animals since I had to pay for it.. . Definitely need to change their wording in the Menu to pizza in a dish and pizza boat. Waste of $7.00. Might try the place again someday but not anytime soon… photos is pictures of what I paid $7 for! Which to me is crazy!
