The food I ordered was beef udon, but it didn’t taste like actual Japanese udon soup. It lacked flavor and tasted more like Americanized Japanese food. The beef was chewy, not the soft kind.
The description said it was “pan-fried,” but I received a bowl with broth… so I’m really confused.
The service was VERY SLOW. There were only two people working as waiters, but there were many customers. I waited over 30 minutes for my order, only to realize they hadn’t brought it out because they were prioritizing other tables that had been waiting. When we got our check, they brought us the wrong one. I’m not really mad, though, since I can understand they don’t have enough people working there and it’s a lot of pressure. The one we had was very helpful and respectful. I really enjoy the service. ⏳❤️
There are only forks available, so you have to ask for chopsticks and spoons. To-go sauces cost an additional $1.
The place is very well-decorated with Japanese-themed items and walls. There’s also a fish tank.
Ok, thanks for reading till the end. I know I criticized and write a little too overboard, my apologies. I’m quite strict with standards and expectations I experience in Asia. Again, very sorry if it’s sounds harsh. I can understand they’re trying their best to serve yummy Japanese cuisine to the States.
(I don’t usually write this much btw)
After 45 minutes, two tables that ordered after us received their food, while we had only received one roll. After a little over an hour, I got up and told the server I would just pay for what we had already eaten so we could get back on the road. Only then was I told, “Well, your rolls are here.”
We went back to the table, ate, and finally left at 6:45 PM.
What was supposed to be a quick stop turned into over an hour for three sushi rolls.
The sushi itself tasted old and heavily over-sauced. We had to scrape off excess sauce with a fork. It was edible and we didn’t get sick, but the quality was on par with grocery store sushi, not restaurant sushi.
Between the long wait, poor timing, and underwhelming food quality, this was a disappointing experience especially given how empty the restaurant was when we arrived.
