Fabulous night. The place was packed so thank goodness we had a reservation. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a fabulous birthday dinner. Both the brussel sprouts and the squid were great appetizers; and we will definitely be back for the truffle wheel pasta again – that was to die for! The extra special birthday dessert board was a beautiful presentation. Five stars!

Came on a Sunday night at 5pm. Had reservations but there were still a good amount of tables opened. They have booth and standard table seating along with bar seatings. Our server was attentive and friendly. There were a good amount of vegetarian options. The Brussel sprouts and ricotta honey with grilled bread were both tasty. You can get more grilled bread without additional charge, which was nice since the ricotta honey went really well with the bread. The pastas were good sharable portions so we were able to pick a few pastas to try.
The swordfish was a little salty but not too dry. On Sundays between 4p-5p they have $1 oysters.

Wonderful restaurant with friendly prompt service and a wide variety of dishes for different tastes. The prices were also very moderate for the quality and quantity of food received. They also have a number of hard to find dishes: I thought the Stuffed Squash Blossom Flowers were in particular a great find.

I went there for my mom’s birthday a few days ago and I was not disappointed. Waiter was friendly and food was amazing. I got the rigatoni vodka and while I was unsure of how it would taste I was happily surprised. The creaminess of the pasta makes it perfect, and I would definitely get it again. Best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to and I will be going back. I hope they stay open for a long time.

Not a bad spot but seems to market itself as a top end place and its not that. Food is ok, but expensive.

Overview: Really good Italian Food

Meal/Time: Dinner/Wednesday/Party of 5
Seated: immediately 446PM for a 5PM reservation
Ordered: 503PM
First ordered item arrived: 513PM

Decor/Atmosphere:
Nice classic Italian American Restaurant; high end casual

Service/ Front of the House:
Very nice and accomdating.

Service/Serving Staff:
Bread and water on the table within 1 minutes of seating.

Jen is friendly and personable. She checked back regularly.

Food:
The Brussels & Buratta $16- appetizer… charred Brussel Sprouts served with a creamy mozzarella. You get a combination of flavors, nuttiness, sweetness and a bit of bitter. A really well balanced dish.

The Chicken Parmigiano $29- hearty breaded chicken served over a bed of gemelli well sauced with plum tomato sauce topped with fresh basil.

My wife had the Black Truffle Wheel $26. I had a few bites of this. The pasta is brought to the table in a wheel of Parmigiano. The heat from the pasta and truffle oil melts the cheese and in turns coats the pasta. If you like cheese, truffle and freshly cracked black pepper this dish is for you.

Value: Really good value to quality and quantity. We had leftovers.

Restroom: Men’s Room single. Clean and well stocked. Bright with plenty of room.

Will I come back?: Yes, I would come back. Next time, I will order the Truffle Wheel.

Five of us had an excellent dinner with good service. Small to medium place, right in town.

We came on a weeknight and shared some appetizers. Salad, arancini, tomatoes and mozzarella, all excellent. I had the eggplant parmigiana which came with a side of pasta that tasted homemade. The sauce was very good, an important test for any Italian place.

Last night was our first time at Capella. It was packed and lively. We did have to wait a bit too long to be seated but the food was worth the wait. The meatball appetizer was a perfect was to begin. The gem salad had anchovies which I loved. The chicken parm was delicious. The salmon was grilled and just how I like it. My friend the the bronzino which he enjoyed. Two others had the bolognese which they both loved! So we will certainly be back!!

We would like to give a higher rating and hope to in the future but there were several areas that could be improved:

1) My husband and I sat on the patio next to the front door. We used to come here alot when it was Petit Robert. They have done a nice job of changing it from French country bistro to modern upscale Italian, still very cozy. It was a lovely evening but it was disrupted by 2 young boys running in and out of the restaurant yelling the score to some game. They continued to yell up and down the sidewalk and climbed the lamppost. It really ruined the vibe. It was surprising that their parents (inside) nor the staff said anything to them. We could over hear the table next to us also commenting about this raucous behavior.

2. The service, although super friendly was slow. We waited for quite some time to place our order and for the bill. I never got the ice that was requested. Perhaps this is because of thr busy crowd on a Friday night.

3. The majority of our dishes were outstanding. The grilled squid appetizer was the best we have had in awhile. The squid was very tender and went perfectly well with the sliced fennel and lemon vinaigrette. My husband’s wagyu dish was also beautifully executed. It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and paired nicely with the garlic sauce. Sides included lightly seasoned crispy fingerling potatoes and broccolini also cooked to perfection. I ordered the house special, lobster in vodka sauce with house made pasta. This was the biggest disappointment when the other dishes were so well delivered. The pasta was over cooked and mushy. The sauce was a bit sweet and there were only a few small pieces of lobster claw meat. This was surprising since the dish was more expensive than the wagyu. When the hostess checked in on us, she was gracious in offering to get us something else. I went with the black truffle wheel since we had seen other tables ordering it and the waitress had said it was her favorite dish there. Indeed it was incredible and did not disappoint! The pasta was not overcooked and the sauce was to die for! I loved it and would come back just for that dish alone!

When the bill came out, we assumed that they would have comped us for the lobster dish since that was what we didn’t like and had sent it back despite their offering us to take it home. But instead, they had comped us for the truffle dish ($26), which was just over half of the lobster dish ($44). Seemed like a strange unprofessional practice.

Overall we still loved 3 out of 4 dishes so would still come back. Hopefully there won’t be screaming kids and perhaps the wait staff would not be as slow.
