Worst. Take-out. Ever. I ordered a take-out order that included a large order of chicken fried rice, large pepper steak, and large sweet and sour chicken.
There was a total of eight small pieces of steak in the large order. Not only did the order contain mostly vegetables, it was all soaked in a sauce that had the consistency of water. There was virtually no flavor. My kids (5&10) took one bite and ran for the garbage to spit it out. Luckily the food was terrible because there wasn’t enough for both of them anyways.
The sweet and sour chicken looked like it came from magic wok. The chicken and vegetables was soaked in a sauce that also had the consistency of water and was extremely greasy.
The only salvation in the meal was the white rice that came with the pepper steak and sweet and sour chicken. Unfortunately, they only provided one side of white rice for the two meals.
I contacted the manager/owner directly following our meal. I explained to her I wasn’t looking for a refund or a free meal and didn’t know if this was typically how the restaurant operates. She assured me that after 25 years of the restaurant being open, she has never heard such a negative review. I told her I had a hard time believing that, as I read reviews similar to mine.
Long story short.. if you live in Waterville, just go to China King.

I drive through Waterville on my way to Cleveland, OH from Fort Wayne, IN and I’m in love with this restaurant! It’s own by a sweet couple that make some of the best Chinese American food I’ve ever had!
