I want to take a moment to recognize the outstanding service we received from Daniel Martínez at Brunetta Wine Bar – McAllen, TX.

From the moment we arrived, his attention to detail was exceptional. He was professional, friendly, and genuinely attentive, making us feel truly welcome and valued as guests. Daniel has excellent knowledge of the menu, offered great recommendations, and was always present without being intrusive — the perfect balance.

Because of him, our visit was more than just dinner; it was a wonderful overall experience with top-level service. You can tell when someone truly enjoys their job and takes pride in providing great hospitality.

We will definitely be returning, and a big reason for that is Daniel’s service. Team members like him truly make a difference.

Highly recommended.

First time here made reservations online table was ready within 5 minutes of arriving. Server was friendly but long wait to check up on us. Calamari was just that nothing different from elsewhere. The Italian margarita was not to sweet made it good. The pizza bread was good simple but good. The main dishes were nice and hot, pasta was good the beef tenderloin was okay a bit dry not juicy expected more for the price. Portions are a bit small. Would recommend to try this place and would go back to try something different.

I had a reservation for 7:00 PM and arrived only 10 minutes late, well within their stated 15-minute grace period. Despite this, we were told to come back in 30 minutes or wait for a call. No call ever came. After over an hour, we had to go back in ourselves just to ask what was going on.

What made it worse was the host’s attitude, consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Meanwhile, another party walked in and was seated almost immediately after a short wait at the bar. The contrast in treatment was obvious and uncomfortable.

The bartender was the only positive part of the experience: friendly, communicative, and honest about the wait. He even suggested we eat at the bar since a table would take too long, which we appreciated.

Overall, the service from the host completely overshadowed what could’ve been a decent experience. Poor communication, unfair seating, and unnecessary attitude. Very disappointing.

Elegant atmosphere, meraviglioso food, nice wine list, lovely service. We were dressed casual, but this would be a great place for a special night out.

We were greeted by a beautiful hostess who was patient and helpful with our questions and requests. The menu was wonderful with lots of pasta and risotto choices. Looking around, the pizza looked really good. All the seafood choices took us back to our time in Puglia. And judging the mini pizza bread appetizer they brought to the table when we sat down, that crust was so good. Plating was well done, and the panna cotta was very authentic. Grazie mille!

Brunetta is a beautiful restaurant with a great ambiance. The drinks were delicious and our server was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the price or the experience. There was a strong sewer smell in the dining area that was distracting. I ordered the $40 lobster pasta and it was extremely bland—after adding pepper, crushed red pepper, salt, and parmesan, it still barely had flavor. The lobster was overcooked, tough, and chewy. I ended up sending the dish back because it just wasn’t enjoyable. Hoping they can improve the food quality, because the atmosphere has a lot of potential.

This is an elegant dining establishment. The lighting was nice and it definitely had beautiful decor and ambiance—definitely a great choice for couples or small groups. The service here is outstanding, the food was very good. I would have given them five stars, but there was a weird smell that smells like a beauty shop’s permanent wave solution that was present the entire time. If they fixed the smell, I would definitely consider coming back.

Upon entering this restaurant, I immediately knew I was in for a delicious meal but Oh my goodness, I did not expect the deliciousness that was served, aside from the fact that the ambience of this place is phenomenal, the food and staff were EXCELLENT! Jess was an AMAZING SERVER and hats off to the chef for our extremely fine meal, if I could give 100 stars ⭐️ I would gladly give them, keep up the amazing work guys, I will definitely be back… a lot!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We booked a reservation for 17 people for Company’s Christmas Dinner at 5pm. We got seated 45 minutes later. The servers took longer to take our orders. My son had to leave at 6:30pm and the food was not served. As part of the Christmas gifts for the company I worked for, we received some cans and the Hostess approached the table stating there will be a 2 dollar charge per can. That was so Ridiculous and so embarrassing!!!! They didn’t give an apology and the “Manager” never showed up to check on our service. This is the worst service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. I will never ever recommend this place. This was today December 21st, 2025.

Excellent Excellent service from our server Ernesto. Very informative about differences in seemingly similar dishes which made choosing our meal much easier and precise.
VERY surprised at the food quality. The spaghetti Toscana was a “try it out” item which turned into a delicious treat. I have never like salmon until tonight. I tasted my wife’s choice and could not believe that I was enjoying it.
This is a new (hidden) gem of a restaurant. Will definitely return. Soon.
Thanks again Ernesto for your attention and attitude. We will insist on you whenever we are there.

We went for lunch, and the restaurant was practically empty—only two other tables were occupied, and they were already eating. Right after sitting down, we ordered water and an appetizer. The drinks came quickly, so we went ahead and ordered our main dishes (two pasta plates, one soup, and a glass of wine).Almost an hour later, the only thing we had received was the appetizer—no main dishes, and not even the glass of wine. Our 4-year-old started to get restless and was playing with the small lamp that was in middle of the table when the manager came over and told us, in a rude tone, “quítale la luz a la niña porque se daña” (take the light away from the girl because it’ll break).By that point, we were already frustrated from waiting so long with no food or wine , so I asked for our tab. The manager quickly brought the check and handed it to me with an attitude and that was the end of our visit. Honestly, this place needs better management. Being a manager means addressing situations kindly and being aware of your customers. When the restaurant isn’t even busy, there’s no excuse for that level of service. A good manager would’ve noticed we’d been waiting too long, not just scolded us because our kid played with the table lamp. Ended up paying $38 for calamari apatizer a coke and 2 kids lemonade

In case the restaurant sees this. This happened 10/26/25 around 4pm
