We celebrated Valentine’s Day at Nonno’s Restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. Even though it was extremely busy, the staff handled everything with professionalism and warmth. We never felt rushed, and the service remained attentive all night.
While a few diners around us seemed a bit impatient because of the holiday crowd, the team stayed calm, courteous, and focused, which really stood out. The owner did a great job managing the room and keeping everything running smoothly, especially on such a hectic night.
The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was lively and romantic. For one of the busiest nights of the year, they truly did an impressive job. We’ll definitely be back!

Even though Nonno’s was incredibly busy for Valentine’s Day, they still managed to give our party of six an amazing evening. The service never felt rushed, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming despite the crowd.
The food was outstanding, hands down the best red sauce, perfectly cooked steak, phenomenal chicken parm, and delicious appetizers across the board. Every dish hit.
The bartender makes exceptional drinks, and to top it all off, the owner is truly the best, present, friendly, and clearly cares about the guest experience.
A perfect Valentine’s dinner and a reminder of why we keep coming back. Highly recommend.

Came out for Valentine’s Day / birthday celebration with my Boyfriend, family, and friends for what was meant to obviously be a special night. My boyfriend had made a reservation weeks ago.. and even followed up the day of calling that morning to ensure we were still good to go. Once arriving it was clear the staff was a bit behind. WE greeted the host, and told him we had made a reservation. he was a bit dismissive, saying that we would need to wait because there were people ahead of us. No problem, but we ended up waiting half an hour past our reservation time. We were eventually seated in the back corner of the restaurant and seemingly forgotten about most the night. the waiter did not even take our drink order until 40 minutes later… and we had to keep reminding him of our drinks as he only brought sangria and water, and 3 times forgot a soda and a beer. Ultimately finding out they didn’t even have the beer my father in law had ordered. Our appetizers took another 30 minutes to place an order on. And there were more mistakes here. No calamari was brought out despite 2 orders being put in. Extra muscles that were NOT ordered came out. And we had been asking for bread.. a commonality generally given upon being seated. We had reminded/ asked our waiter several time. It wasn’t until an hour and half in that we were told the kitchen was out of bread. Which was fine had we not seen every table around us get refilled baskets. The owner offered to substitute the bread for an appetizer – and condescendingly cut up and piece mealed the singular appetizer, handing us each a small piece of the appetizer while humming a tune for us to “stop crying” seemingly mocking us for asking several times for a basket of bread, which was then clear when he told my boyfriend directly to “stop whining about the bread” Nonetheless we tried to make the most of our night. Our entries were put in with no issue however when the meals came out- the owner “reassured” me that I should be LUCKY that the kitchen made my pasta with Alfredo sauce instead of oil … which I’ve 1000% ordered before and never had an issue with… it was simple chicken Alfredo- for a “fancy” Italian restaurant, you would not think this a difficult task. Additional, It was not an issue to the waiter when I placed it. Regardless several entrees for the table came out wrong. With poorly cooked chicken and My pasta sauce was pure milk. When we brought it up the waiter and the owner- it was clear he could not accept criticism or negative comments on the food preparation. He was aggressively getting in the face of my boyfriend, making snarky remarks to our table, and trying to ensure us that we were wrong despite several dishes being below standards. His whole attitude was disgusting. He tried to make it seem as he did us a favor by taking our party, claiming we did not have a reservation despite having proof, and that he treats all guests the same. Any ounce of professionalism was gone. it was evidently clear that other patrons were friends / family as they joined in his mocking of us- definitely not supporting any crumb of professionalism this place held. One of the employees – I did not get his name but he was every sweet came over to apologize and offered the ladies at the table roses for Valentines Day, a sweet gesture. However that was quickly dismissed when the owner returned to make more snarky comments to us stating “those will be $5 extra to your bill” we told him to keep his dead flowers and we packed up and left.
If you’re looking for a welcoming space to enjoy a meal with loved ones. This is not the place. They cannot handle stress / busy times of the day or holidays. Unfortunately, we had been warned based on their NYE party- but we thought we’d make our own assumptions. And it seemed worst than our friends experience. I will certainly never return to this place while this man is in charge. Absolutely repulsed.

Went here multiple times on regular days, plus once on New Year’s and again on Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, they clearly can’t handle more than a few small tables at a time. On both holidays, the food was completely lacking flavor and very disappointing.
The owner is consistently rude and acts like he’s doing customers a favor just by serving them. It also feels like many of the positive reviews come from the same regulars I see every visit — the ones who seem to get special treatment.
Overall, not a welcoming experience and not worth the price. I won’t be coming back.

No-no! Inattentive, poor service. Food was average definitely not worth what they charge for it. Average food with high-end prices for the area. The two chicken dishes we ordeed were both overcooked see photo of dried chicken. Portions were good, of course when the entrees are overcooked it doesn’t matter much. Wouldn’t come back.

What a hidden gem of amazing Italian food! We shared the stuffed artichoke, crab stuffed mushrooms, spiedini and salads. Absolutely delicious! Our entrees included lobster ravioli, linguine with clams, osso buco and a chicken special stuffed with spinach and shrimp. Everything was delicious and the service was great! The owner really makes sure you are enjoying your meal! Highly recommend!

Calamari appi was excellent. The sauce was real crushed tomatoes to enhance the perfect calamari. However, we ordered the seafood pasta special which was very disappointing. When tasting the pasta special with scallops and shrimp, it would have been worth the $38 price if they at least salted the pasta water. I ended up using the whole bowl of parm cheese to spruce up both our meals. We hadn’t been there in a while and was hoping for a great meal. No salad came with it. Lettuce is cheap and it would have been nice to include it. With a bottle of their cheapest wine at 55, our bill was 200 with tip.

This place was a hidden gem we found by searching short ribs.
It’s an amazing place full of attention and very respectful staff. I’m pretty sure the owner was our waiter, and he spoke with such confidence about each dish he suggested.
I’m can’t decide what I liked most, the appetizers (stuffed mushrooms & stuffed artichoke), main course (short ribs & cavetilli and broccoli) or delicious desert (1/2 tres leches 1/2 tiramisu).
Everything was delicious, and the presentations of the dishes were beautiful.
This is a must try in my book, and we will certainly be back.

What else can I say, Amazing! It’s been a really long time since I’ve truly had a great Italian meal. I’m originally from the Passaic/Bergen county area, and there were outstanding Italian restaurants minutes away in any town. Unfortunately, that’s not the case in this area. Nonno’s really nails it! They have spiedini alla romana, I haven’t seen this on a menu in over 20 years. If you know, you know, if not, a must try. I can go on about the different dishes forever. There was nothing that I tried that was bad. A truly OMG moment. Atmosphere, cleanliness, service, and meals all A+++. A definite must try.

We ordered dinners to go tonight and my order was Mediterranean bass with sun dried tomatoes, shitaki mushrooms , artichokes over rice and vegetables. What I got was a small piece of bass with risotto with zero sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms or artichoke just a fish and risotto. The fish tasted really good but it wasn’t what I ordered and I only chose this because of the stuff that was missing in my order. This was our first time ordering and probably last.
