Los Gallitos was absolutely delicious! Though it’s tucked away off the beaten path, it’s far from a hole in the wall. The colorful decor and warm, friendly service made the experience truly enjoyable. The food was excellent — and according to my friend who grew up in a Hispanic family, it’s also authentically prepared. It’s a great spot for both small gatherings and larger groups alike.

Los Gallitos was absolutely fantastic! We started with the cranberry margarita and the pineapple spicy margarita—both were perfectly crafted, refreshing, and full of flavor. The drinks alone are worth the visit.
For food, we ordered the Everything But the Kitchen Sink Burrito and the Mexican Flag Enchilada Platter, and both were outstanding. The portions were generous, the flavors were bold and authentic, and everything tasted incredibly fresh.
The service was amazing—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. This is hands down some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long while.
Highly recommend Los Gallitos if you’re nearby—you won’t be disappointed!

An affordable and high quality Mexican restaurant with a small, local vibe! My friends recommend we grab dinner here and I was shocked that I’d never been before. It was outstanding! The weather was so nice and I wanted to sit on the patio but there were already several people taking advantage of the beautiful atmosphere so we chose to sit inside where it was less crowded.
The team serving us was phenomenal, with loads of table touches and thoroughly going through the specials. They have daily specials and seasonal specials in addition to their tried and true menu. I really liked that because it felt like no matter what you went with you knew had been vetted to make the cut! Some Mexican restaurants have 10 page menus and it can be overwhelming.
I went with the Chimi platter and got the Birria as the meat option. Soooo flavorful!! Made me want to try their taco plate next time. I also got the aqua de Fresca horchata. To quote a popular Latin phase: GASOLINA!!! And we ordered the Jalapeño Queso Dip which was excellent, just the right amount of spice and very little heat.
I can’t wait to go back again soon. Mission is so over looked by there are places like this that have been hiding here for decades. I really love stumbling across them!

It’s a very charming place. Way more spacious then I was expecting. I got chicken and beef enchiladas. They put too much cheese in the chicken ones. The beef one was very good. The chips they brought out was ok nothing special. The salsa was thick and very good. My wife loved her chicken chimichangas. She also loved her margarita. Service was spotty. Took a long time for someone to get me a refill and we asked for desert but they forgot. Another waitress finally brought out the Fried Ice Cream. It was very good. It’s a little pricey but we’ll definitely come back and try again.

Found this local gem that was near an event we had attended in the morning. We ordered two combos (#3 & #4) as well as one of their seasonal specialty margaritas (Prickly Pear) and a bottled beer. The food was definitely fresh and the breading on the chili relleno was the best I’ve had in the KC area. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh as well which isn’t always the case from various restaurants in the area. The enchiladas and beans had solid seasonings, the rice wasn’t bad but felt it could have been better. The tostada was good, I only wish it had been on a separate plate instead of on top of the rice and salad veggies which made it a bit soggy. The wait staff was great and very attentive (Reyna was our waitress) the owner or manager even stopped by tables to ensure things were meeting expectations. The facility was clean and in traditional festive decor. You have to ask for their hot salsa which both were excellent in heat and taste, I preferred the avocado over the red and couldn’t get enough. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh and authentic Mexican cuisine in the area, with staff ready to serve you with a smile. Great job Los Gallitos!

My 2 friends and I ate here for lunch on a Monday. I was surprised they didn’t have a lunch menu. However, I was able to get a smaller portion of what I wanted off the ala carte menu. We sampled some of their holiday cocktails and they were good. 3 smaller glasses for $16 seemed fair. A couple of requests were missed when our order came out, but service was still pretty attentive and quick. If you like churros, be sure to get their churro cake for dessert. That’s worth a trip back, all on its own!!

We went there specifically for the dessert and we’re sad that it was sold out by the time we got there, but the food did not disappoint. Hopefully we can make it back sometime to try that yummy strawberry dream dessert. In the meantime, we highly recommend the fajitas.

The enchiladas are absolutely delicious. The chicken and shredded beef was very tender and everything was seasoned and tasted great. Cheese sauce was spicy and very good. The lights are a bit bright in the restaurant though. Next time we will try the tacos and margaritas. Guacamole is $8 but it comes with lettuce at the bottom so you really don’t get as much as you think based on the bowl size. But it was really good with the pico on top.

First time here and came for Restaurant Week 2026! Everything was delicious! We had the flight of margaritas: we had Prickly Pear, Mango and Blueberry! I’m usually not a fan of on the rocks margaritas but these were Yummy! We even took some to go. Will definitely be back!!
