We love sitting at the sushi bar and ordering the omakase; letting the chef surprise us is always such a special experience. Every dish feels like a piece of art.
Kyala has become like our second home — we celebrate all our important occasions here, from anniversaries to Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and birthdays. The team always celebrates with us singing loud birthday song and makes each visit memorable.
Dining at Kyala Sushi was more than just a meal—it felt like being gently transported back to Japan.
Every dish carried a quiet kind of beauty, full of care and intention.
Chef Manabu Moriguchi’s kappo-style approach brings out the soul of each ingredient. From the freshness of the sashimi to the lightness of the tempura, the balance and technique were simply moving. It reminded me of meals I’ve had back home, with the same quiet respect for tradition and seasonality.
The omakase course was a joy—not just delicious, but full of little surprises that made us smile. Even the way each dish was presented made us feel cared for.
What touched me most was the warmth of the people here. They were so kind to our child, offering a thoughtful kids’ menu and even making special off-menu items with a smile. That level of attention and heart is rare.
Kyala feels like a quiet treasure—humble, genuine, and full of soul.
I almost want to keep it secret… but I’m glad places like this still exist.
Thank you for such a beautiful experience.

A Hidden Gem in Diamond Bar
Nestled in the heart of Diamond Bar, Kyala Sushi & Japanese Cuisine is a delightful culinary haven for lovers of authentic Japanese fare. This family-owned gem has carved a niche for itself, offering a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. Kyala takes pride in sourcing the freshest ingredients for its dishes.
Recommend Sushi Deluxe
Sushi Deluxe, a signature dish, exemplifies Kyala’s culinary prowess. Imagine a platter adorned with meticulously crafted nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls. The rice is perfectly seasoned, providing a delicate base for the star ingredients. The friendly staff, led by the family owners, ensures that every guest feels welcome. They share stories, recommend dishes, and create an atmosphere of warmth ! definitely will come back again
The new owners are a couple from Japan with over 20 years of experience working sushi restaurants in Japan. The new menu and offerings are like night and day compared to the old Kyala. I usually go for omakase so I can get the greatest variety. The sushi and sashimi are elegantly presented and perfectly sized. They’re made to be eaten in one or two bites unlike some of the monstrosities produced at less refined places. There are also many season offerings such as ice fish, needle fish, and even stone crab.
Although most items seem traditional, the owners are very good at introducing unique flavors and add their own flair. For example, their chawanmushi has a touch of yuzu flavor that really makes it pop.
Besides the high quality of the food, what makes Kyla stand out is the more than reasonable prices, the friendly and knowledgeable service, and that there is almost never a wait. If you like Japanese food, you are honestly cheating yourself if you haven’t given this place a try.
