Do you love bread or have a fondness for baked goodies? If yes is your answer, then this wonderful bakery is a must-visit shoppe. There is a plethora of bread choices to select from, and tastes are always available, so you can try before you buy. Other goods include large cookies and a variety of scones, plus more.
The Mocha Chip Scones are one of my most favorite. Very tasty and made in a generous size. And the Autumn Apple or Cinnamon Chip breads are so appealing for the holiday season, but delightful any time of year. But don’t wait, things sell out quickly. But even just before closing time, you can score something special because of the many choices and products available.

The young lady who took our order was very nice, extremely knowledgeable, patient and very kind & considerate. She took the time to explain about all their breads, muffins, pies, and rolls. We decided to try the Maryland Bread (with old bay) and it was sooo good. We are getting crab soup tomorrow just to try dipping the bread in it. We tried it today with chicken corn chowder and it was so yummy. We also tried their gluten free products and they were delicious. My husband tried a couple of their muffins and he said they were very fresh, real cranberries (cranberry orange) and real orange zest and bits of orange as well. Also the blueberry scone had real blueberries and was also delicious and extremely fresh. We also got their bread pudding and that too was sooo good and yummy. I would highly recommend them to any person who loves fresh baked goods. We did spend 58.00 but we definitely got our money’s worth. (Loaf of Maryland bread, 6 muffins, 1 scone and loaf of bread pudding.

I wanted to love this place, the folks were so sweet! But for a place where you buy a whole loaf of bread and take it to go, I have to rate based off the food.
The herbed Italian bread loaf was too sweet and the texture was much too close – the crumb is very tightly packed and it even felt dense to pick up. It also has a solid ridge along the bottom. I suspect it wasn’t proofed, or if so, not long enough. Anyway, texture is key for a bakery fresh bread loaf, and this was way off. I’m also not sure what flavor was supposed to stand out (maybe tomato, which was a surprise for an herb loaf), and the level of sweetness much too high (more than a brioche!) to pair with Italian dishes, and the flavoring is off to pair with a sweet spread. I didn’t want to finish this bread.
I want to give them another try because I adore a local bread shop and everyone has off days. I hope they take this into consideration; the place seems popular from the other reviews. Maybe I just picked the wrong product. ♀️

Love Love Love this quaint lil shop in West Annapolis and have supported it for well over a decade. The selection varies by day and holidays, and offers fresh high quality bread and other delicious baked goods!
My kids love the vanilla almond swirl, which has sadly been discontinued, the cinnamon and challah bread, and I find the savory scones truly delightful!
Whenever we’re in town, we stop in for a tasty treat. Thanks, Joe!

I have a gluten intolerance and have SO appreciated the new owner’s commitment to providing a variety of delicious gluten friendly products for those of us who need them. I’ve had the chance to taste most of them since the new owner took over (what can I say, it’s hard to find fresh gluten-friendly products!) and I especially love the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, the mocha chocolate chip scones, and the chocolate chip cookies (guess it’s obvious I love chocolate!). The buckwheat bread (which, despite its name, is gluten free) is also delicious and makes the BEST sandwiches and toast (no dry, cardboard-like taste here – if you know, you know). The bakery is also very cute, and they just put out some seating in front, which looks like a nice area to eat your treats.

First time visiting GHBC and it was grand. I didn’t know it was there until coming in the area for a nearby establishment. I’m a HUGE bread lover and I totally loved the smells, the staff and the quaintness of this location. The 2 ladies from yesterday were superb. I picked berries and sour cream scone, a spinach and cheese scone and a 4 cheese roll. All 3 of them were so delicious, moist, flavorful and fluffy. I know I will be back. I will also share this with friends and on my social media sites.

Delicious baked goods and breads! The owner, Joe, went above and beyond when our plans changed due to a serious toddler injury, and not only hand delivered our order, but it came with a get well soon note from the entire team. Our community is so lucky to have a source for amazing food and amazing people!
