This place has been here for a while and it is definitely not what it used to be. Went here for my boys “40th” birthday came here thinking it was going to be the same experience from what I had years ago, boy was I WRONG. The hostess was very nice I must say and was also very attentive in taking our orders or was for of us Myself, him his mom and his lady. But when the guy came out to do the cooking on the flat top he was just terrible. He did some kind of twirling of the spatulas and hit my boys lady with one because he missed the catch. It was like he was drunk or something. There was no real show he put on at all like you would normally see at a hibachi place at all. The volcano was the WORST no fire no nothing he put some oil and some soy sauce in it blew the whistle it bubbled over for 3 seconds and that was the end of the show. Will I go back? Probably not I think Sai Gai has run its course. Food was good but that will be my last time.

So appearance wise, it is significantly below average.
Food wise this place takes the cake, the food was outrageously good and the drinks were on the small size but they pack a punch. I would definitely recommend.

Delicious food and great customer service! The Best Japanese hibachi restaurant in the Region by far. Steak and shrimp with fried rice is my favorite! I can’t get enough of their Fried rice. What a blessing to have this restaurant continuing to provide quality for so many years. Very much appreciated and a place I look forward to dining. There is no place like it! Thank you for creating such incredible food experiences Sai Gai Japanese Steakhouse and sushi bar!!!

I hope the dine-in experience is a lot better than the take out food because I would have been better off buying boxed Rice-A-Roni and frozen shrimp somewhere else. Aside from the filet mignon not having any flavor, veggies as stale as cardboard, the Yum-Yum sauce might as well have been mayonnaise!

Agreed with poster below…Guy cooking had no interaction at all with everyone at the table-looked and acted like he absolutely hated his job and his customers. Way overly expensive for a very little bit of food compared to other Japanese steak houses Our meal for 2 was over $50 and definitely NOT worth that. Should have been half that for what we received. We initially asked for more yum yum sauce before tasting it, but the “chef” ignored the request. Then when he did give us more, most of it was ladled onto the table next to the container. –Thanks! The yum yum sauce was yuck yuck watery goop. Gross. The shrimp tasted old.
Almost walked out after the water with a mushroom slice (soup) was served. Should have been clued in initially by the fact that there were NO cars in the parking lot and no customers inside when we arrived at dinner time around 6pm. What a waste of money. No way we will ever go here again. Not a chance. Thanks for making our anniversary dinner a flop. I promised the wife we would try somewhere else later in the week to make up for it.

Honestly really good, classic Hibachi that is family owned. They cooked right in front of me and did a great job, definitely a place I’d recommend. Steak & Chicken is a really good value, and they provide plenty of rice.

The restaurant was clean and organized, but service was terrible. Despite having a reservation, we waited 30 minutes before anyone took our order. One of our group disclosed a shellfish allergy, but the restaurant refused to accommodate, leaving them unable to eat. After 45 minutes with no grill prep, we decided to leave. The manager claimed our orders were already being prepared, but there was only one cook for four tables, and another table, arriving after us, was served first. While the food and hibachi show were good, the poor service means I won’t return or recommend this place.

My wife and I decided we wanted hibachi for dinner tonight so we checked this place out. This is our first time and definitely this will be our last time spending money here! This is what I received for $25 a plate. We asked for Hibachi steak and shrimp with vegetables and no rice. The meat was overcooked and got practically no vegetables! Don’t waste your money.

If you want a delicious meal & traditional Hibachi that’s reasonably priced and supports a family run business – then eat here! The outside of the building is run down and needs work, but who cares about the outside, when there’s AMAZING food inside. Do yourself a favor and check out this hidden gem!
