Bar where everybody knows your name. Locals come to play volleyball in one of two courts for the purpose in sand pits (thus the bar’s name). Clean bathroom and friendly bartender. Food is good and fairly priced. In July 2023 the Rensselaer County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location.

deep fried food was greasy…I realize that is how it is made, but we could dab the oil on napkins. Wings were decent. Appears they have a bunch of tournament type things…darts, beer pong, etc.

Great place for a Philly Cheese Steak. We had an early supper and really enjoyed our food. Fries were homemade and awesome. Very casual and we’ll visit again soon.

Eh. You know when you walk in somewhere with someone and you’re looked at like a leper? Well that’s how it felt walking into this bar on a Sunday early evening. Food was great by the way. I don’t think I will be back. I wanted to like it, but my gut said No! Sorry.

From the time we placed our order on the phone, it all started to unravel. The guy kept trying to upsell us stuff. When we picked up the order it was $20 more than it should have been. They charged us for 2 order of fries we didn’t request and they charge you 1$ for every to go container. Because we had the extra food we didnt order, the box charge itself was 6$. This is shady and hence we will NEVER go back. Keep one hand on your $ at this place

First time visiting. It seems like a cool spot, real dart board, pool table, golf sim. The wings were delicious and busch on tap was an added bonus.

Walked in and were totally ignored by the bartender who seemed more interested in impressing the men at the bar. Even when I spoke directly at him, he did not acknowledge our presence. So we left and went a mile away to Falls Diner, where we were greeted, seated, and ordered in a few short minutes.
My advice is that you don’t waste your time going to The Sandbar, unless you want to sit at the bar and drink.
