This place is so awesome! I had my first cross-country skiing experience with their gear and pre-trip lesson, and I had a GREAT experience. Melissa was so nice, and Jackson made a DELICIOUS oat milk latte! All the staff was so kind and helpful, and the store had some GREAT gifts and gear for purchase! This should be a stop on EVERYONE’S trip to West Yellowstone!!

I would drive back up here from texas just to get another latte. I tried almost all of the coffee shops in West Yellowstone while I was up in the park for a few months, and freeheel is absolutely the best. The others shops are ok but this place has some of the best coffees I’ve ever had! The almond joy, banana bread, maple cinnamon, and so many more lattes are so flavorful, smooth, and creamy! And 20 oz of coffee for 6.50 is a steal considering you’re in a tourist town! The workers are so nice and helpful and the whole shop is full of some really cool stuff and cute clothes! And they have awesome stickers so don’t forget to grab one!

We rented ski and snowshoe gear from them on multiple days during our trip to West Yellowstone! The nicest and most helpful people and they were endlessly patient with our kids. Would highly recommend! Plus it’s a great gear shop and has delicious coffee!

Visited this shop for cross-country skiing equipment and was thoroughly impressed. The staff were not only super friendly but also extremely knowledgeable. The pricing was a pleasant surprise – only $30 for skis, poles, and brand new boots. An added bonus is its convenient location, just about five minutes from the slope. Highly recommend for both quality and value.

What an amazing day the 4 of us had today! When we got there all of our cross country equipment was not only ready for us, but labeled with our names on the skis, poles and boots! We have never cross country skied and Melissa gave us all a great one hour lesson! We spent the afternoon cross country skiing and we were so well prepared…no injuries and an amazing experience! Planning to go back another day this week and rent the equipment again. Highly recommend!

One of the highlights of my solo travels was finally visiting Yellowstone—an item on my lifelong bucket list!
To explore West Yellowstone National Park, I decided to rent a bike and came across a local bike rental shop.
What truly amazed me was not just the high-quality bikes but also the exceptional hospitality of the people in West Yellowstone.

This bike rental shop exceeded all expectations!!
Not only were the staff incredibly warm and considerate toward travelers, but the quality of the bikes was unparalleled.
I have rented bikes from various places before, but I have never come across such well-maintained, high-performance bicycles.
Thanks to their excellent bikes, I was able to explore the breathtaking landscapes of West Yellowstone in the best way possible.

After a long ride through the park, I craved a warm cup of coffee.
To my delight, the shop also had a coffee bar, so I decided to try it.
I wasn’t expecting much, but from the very first sip, I was completely blown away.
The coffee was, without a doubt, the best I have ever had—far superior to even the most renowned coffee shops.
The depth, richness, and perfect balance of flavors made it truly unforgettable.
If only I had discovered this coffee shop on my first day in Yellowstone, I would have visited every morning, afternoon, and evening!
Unfortunately, I found it only the day before I left, which was my biggest regret.

When I think of Yellowstone now, this bike rental shop is the first thing that comes to mind.
The kind and wonderful people working there, their warm hospitality, and the genuine care they show to travelers left a lasting impression on me.
If you ever visit West Yellowstone, this is a place you absolutely must stop by—not just for a bike or coffee, but for an experience that will make your trip even more special.

We went in looking for some information on activities to do with our boys (8 and 11). We ended up renting skis and going to the trail head at their suggestion. We had a blast, we also brought a sled that we purchased at ace hardware and were able to use that around marker 2 on the purple haze trail. Super nice and helpful staff and the coffee was delicious

An absolute pleasure. 10 years ago we visited Yellowstone, and I rented a mountain bike from Freeheel and Wheel for a few days. It was a wonderful experience, riding it along the CDT just west of West Yellowstone.
Here we are 10 years later, and had the chance to visit Yellowstone in the winter. Happened to be during quite a cold snap (-36F as a low one night). During this trip, we hiked, snowshoed, snowmobiled to Old Faithful, and the capstone was the chance to try Nordic skiing. Which my wife and I LOVED. Melissa was awesome, set us up with boots, skis, poles, gave us great suggestions over where to try, some pointers on technique, and suggested we wait til it warmed up a tad. We were eager to learn, so gave ourselves a test run on the Boundary Trail (complete newbies). After a fall or two, we figured it out pretty well, and went for lunch at The Buffalo Bar. After lunch, we set about the work of exploring the Riverside Trail. We headed out in some nearly virgin tracks, and hit most of the Upriver Loop. Seeing the Madison River with so much snow in it was beautiful! (photo) Despite a minor fall where I tweaked my ankle, we had a wonderful time, and will definitely try XC skiing again, thanks to this great experience! Thank you Freeheel and Wheel!

Loved this store for its pumpkin spice latte and the decor. It was right outside the motel I’d stayed at during my Yellowstone visit, and was my go to for the first morning beverage. Recommend!
