I was so excited to try this place out but it turned out to be a HUGE disappointment. First off, we get there at 1:50 and they have the nerve to say they’re done serving because they close at 2 but on Google it clearly says 2:30. Once I explained we drove from Madison, they finally agreed to make the food only to get the whole order wrong! I ordered 2 club sandwiches, one no mayo. I get the clubs, neither one has mayo and one club club is missing the bacon! I called them right away and the girl in the front claimed she would remake them whenever I next came by, but I’m from Madison. It will probably be awhile when I come by again. I hate wasting money so bad, but it looks like that’s what I’ve just done.
Pictured subs: one has no bacon (we had to stop by burger King to get bacon) and neither has mayo. Smh ridiculous.

This place is amazing! The restaurant is clean and welcoming. I brought my mom for the first time and she loved it! We ordered all American cheeseburgers with broccoli salad. Everything was simply excellent in taste. But the heat was perfect on the cheeseburger and every bite kept you coming back for the next bite! This place is great for a nice little getaway for lunch. The price standard and not too high. We will definitely be back ❤️

Took a lil roadtrip out to Athens with my folks on a day off last week. We wanted to try this place. Since it is in the main part of downtown, super close parking is a bit of a big ask; we parked at a public government building about two blocks down and walked over.
The inside is very small and only has a couple of two-seater tables and one bench setup, but there are multiple nice metal tables outside to sit at if the weather is good. Fortunately, we lucked out in that regard, as it was a nice day.
The inside of the restaurant smelled absolutely amazing, so I was excited to order. Their lunch menu mostly consists of sandwiches and burgers, with limited sides like chips, broccoli salad, soup of the day, and so on. Bottled drinks and a couple of desserts round it all out.
My parents split a Philly cheese steak sandwich with pasta salad; I got a chicken cheese steak with a cup of the soup of the day (potato), and we shared a slice of strawberry pretzel salad for dessert!
The employees were nice enough to bring our food out to us while we were at a metal table on the patio, so that was sweet. Food came out relatively quickly and was definitely fresh.
Overall, it was fine! My favorite thing was probably the strawberry pretzel salad; I wish I’d had a little more but I should’ve ordered my own portion! lol. The potato soup had really nice garlicky croutons on top that I enjoyed, though I wish there’d been bigger chunks of potato in it.
I liked my chicken Philly just fine though I feel like it was missing some sort of flavor somewhere. My parents felt the same about their regular Philly. Unlike me, though, my mom unfortunately got several gristley bits she had to spit out. The chicken didn’t have that same problem.
Overall, a pleasant enough experience though I wouldn’t say our socks were knocked off, haha. I’d return and try other menu options if I come back in the future.

This is a tiny little hole in the wall on the square downtown. There was a line to order but it was well worth the wait. Do not miss this place!
Chicken Philly was very flavorful with the perfect amount of cheese and veggies. I will absolutely be coming back for another.

They serve a very nice upscale dinner on Friday nights in their upstairs dining room. We got salmon and a filet mignon. They were excellent. Very nice quiet getaway meal.

The sandwiches are amazing! Perfect for sitting outside and having lunch, watching the train go by. Dinner on Friday nights up in their little alleyway loft space is just as great! 10/10! Awesome food! The owner is awesome. Location is awesome. We love Wildwood!

First timers – went with recommended Philly cheesesteak and the Reuben. Add the blue cheese to the steak worth the dollar – don’t be cheap. Toasted / grilled breads were perfect. Meats were oh so tender – steak was almost perfect but…. one large chunk was raw and unedible. Despite that we will return to continue down the menu trail.

Had a glass of red wine on a Friday night while attending a open air concert. This place was packed! While getting my wine I was overwhelmed with the smells from the kitchen! Unfortunately they are closed on weekends. I arrived at opening Monday morning and ordered the Rachel sandwich and another glass of wine. It was great! Dinner is only served on Friday nights and all the items I wanted to try were from the dinner menu. As I am from Athens Alabama I look forward to returning in July and partaking in dinner! Great food, customer service is good, food is delicious.
