My first time eatting at Pappas soul food and I can’t complain!! Everything was fresh and season just right . Best to go early , they sell out sides quick ! Everything was so good !! Update: everything was that good, I went back the next day to try the spaghetti and meatballs. Very fulfilling and delicious!

My previous experience was better. The highlight here was the pork chop. The pork chop was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The rice was bland and the gravy was standard fare. The green beans were bland and seemed canned and not cooked down. The greens were sweet but not impressive. The coke machine was broken. Hopefully it will be better next time.

I purchase 2 plates. Cabbage with gravy and rice and grill pork chop and potato salad. It was terrible need a new cook a real soul food cook. Potato salad tasted like it had sugar in it. The gravy I can’t even explain it. I am from New Orleans and when I hear soul food, I get very excited because I love to cook and eat. And this was not soul food cooking. This was my first time here. I will never come back. A wasted of money. Tony’s seafood can out beat this place.

I went to Papa’s for the first time and was very satisfied! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, the overall value was definitely worth the price. The atmosphere was very inviting, clean and staff was very pleasant. I will definitely patronize in the near future!

Went there just before they closed for the day, but they still gave a great meal and good conversation. I’m glad they updated the look of the restaurant, because I never did notice it before (they’ve been there for 18+ years!). They were out of the dish I wanted to get (Étouffée), but that’s what I get for arriving so late. The substitute was awesome (Red Beans/Catfish). I will be back, and look forward to your dinner hours!

Best fried pork chop I’ve ever eaten. The catfish is AWARD WINNING. Love the staff and the lady who took my order – she’s fun! I’ve been here a few times and love to come back. Truly a Soul Food destination!!
