Parking Is A Hit Or Miss, I’m Assuming Based Off The Day & Time You Come Here.
They Have A Really Cool, Creative Bagel Selection With Unique Flavor Combos That Make You Want To Try Something Different. (Major Plus)
MY ORDER:
Cheesy Garlic Bread Bagel
• Bodega Style Eggs
• Cheddar Cheese
• Avocado Smash (+$3)
+ Oatmeal Hot Cocoa
Now Here’s My Honest Take:
The Bagel Itself Was Delicious. Flavorful, Toasted Well, & You Could Taste The Garlic & Cheese. I’d Definitely Get The Bagel Again On Its Own Maybe Just Toasted With Butter Or Cream Cheese Next Time.
But As A Combo? I Wasn’t A Fan.
The Eggs Were Disappointing & As A New York Native, I Have High Standards When It Comes To Bodega-Style Eggs. I Expected Fresh Cracked Eggs With That Fluffy, Buttery Flavor, It Just Wasn’t Giving That. For The Price, I Expected Better Quality.
The Avocado Smash Seemed Premade & Not Super Fresh. Paying An Extra $3 For It, I Expected A Brighter, Fresher Taste, So That Threw Me Off.
I Honestly Think My Flavor Combo Just Didn’t Work Together. The Maple Black Pepper, Cheddar, Or Even Everything Bagel Might’ve Paired Better With Those Toppings.
OAT-MILK HOT COCOA ☕️
It Was Okay, But Not Rich Or Chocolatey Enough For Me, I Wanted A Deeper Cocoa Flavor.
My Total Came To $16, & For What I Got, I Personally Felt Like I Overpaid.
Customer Service Was Nice & Super Friendly. It Got Busy Right After I Ordered, So It’s Definitely A Popular Spot. You Can Order Online Or In Person, Which Is Convenient.
The Aesthetic & Bagel Quality Are Strong. My Specific Combo Just Missed The Mark For Me Especially Being From New York, My Expectations For Eggs Are Up There.
You know when you show up to dinner and your Tinder date looks nothing like their profile picture? Well, this is the bagel version of that.
Generally speaking, CMY’s fun sandwich combos make up for their staunchly mediocre bagels. Unfortunately, the size and composition of said sandwiches is really inconsistent and has gone steadily downhill since they opened.
I was in the mood for some jazzy breakfast sandwiches today, so I ordered some CMY bagels… what a fool I was.
Of notable disappointment was the Edgewater sandwich. I had vague memories of my sister ordering this years ago, when I was struck with bagel envy because it looked so good – vibrant and abundant, just like the photos. IMAGINE my disappointment today when I opened up my Ozempic-thin sandwich on a burnt bagel.
To add insult to injury – I don’t understand the economics of skimping on carrots and cucumbers, the cheapest ingredients imaginable, on a $9 bagel.
I ate it, of course, each mouthful brimming with the bitter taste of regret instead of yummy vegetables.
(Luckily, the pastrami, egg, and cheese was pretty good and eased my pain.)
I cannot believe I was catfished by a bagel. Comedy and tragedy, all in one.
In summary – if there’s something on CMY’s menu you can’t get anywhere else (pastrami, latkes, babka), come here. For everything else, I’ll see you at Bethesda Bagels, with a thicc smoked salmon bagel in my hands.
I ordered one of their signature sandwiches – The Sun City with bacon. For someone who is not a fan of bagels, it was D E L I C I O U S. The bagel was soft and easy to bite into. Everything blended so well; I highly recommend.
The restaurant is so cute. Everything is pink and they had flowers decorated everywhere. I will definitely add this to one of my favorite breakfast/lunch restaurants.
Staff were very friendly and the limited seating was full. Loved the decor and the name brings a smile to my face! I may try again but probably not anytime soon.
