Mihajlo was the absolute biggest joy to have as our server. He truly is absolutely amazing at what he does. He made the world’s best strawberry lemon drop martini, and gave the best suggestion for dinner. He truly is a gem!

Sat at the bar. Ordered the Paccheri w/ a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon & all was great! The meal was a smaller portion than expected so I ended up getting a 2nd order. However it was worth it & will definitely return.

Food was good overall. Sea bass was well cooked, ravioli was a standout. Dessert wasn’t our favorite. Curious about the regular menu. We went for NYE

Exceptional evening! The food was fantastic; particularly the Elk chop, short rib ravioli and the spaghetti carbonara!! Joe our server was attentive and engaging. The owner was so kind and invited us to the bar after our meal to share in a dessert wine on the house for our friends birthday. The cocktails were delicious and generous! We live in Chesterton and generally eat in Porter Co but we will absolutely make the drive to return! A++

We stopped by on a Saturday night 5pm (11/1) — there were maybe 10 cars in the parking lot, so we thought getting a table would be no problem. However, the hostess told us she couldn’t seat us, even though there were plenty of open tables inside. For a restaurant that should be prepared for a weekend crowd, that’s silly- even if plenty of reservations. House always gets burned on reservations anyway.
She offered us a bar table instead, but we declined — those seats are right where everyone walks by, and that’s not the kind of dining experience we wanted. No offer to suggest a wait time for a table just a NO
Good business lost and we won’t be returning. A restaurant with this many empty tables should never be turning guests away. Makes zero sense.

Gamba is the #1 to go if you are looking for a memorable experience. I went there with my adult daughter and dear friends for a mother/daughter New Year’s Eve celebration. They were so impressed! The whole experience from amazing food, beautiful atmosphere and staff made it one of the most memorable NYE I could of imagined. Thank you to the Gamba family and staff for the moment you created for us that I will always cherish. Also, if you want to impress a special lady for a first date I recommend taking her here and bring summer flowers lol.

I love my dining experiences at Gamba. Every single time they provide great food and great service. One of my favorite restaurants in the region.

My husband and I dined here a little over a month ago, and unfortunately, we couldn’t have been less impressed. From the start, the experience felt unwelcoming. When we asked our server about a dish we noticed on several other tables, she replied, “Oh, that’s only for our VIPs. You could buy it, though, for (X amount).” That comment immediately set the wrong tone.
Each time we inquired about menu items, we were met with short, dismissive answers, as though our questions were an inconvenience. After ordering cocktails, it took nearly 30 minutes for our server to return to take our food order and another 30–40 minutes before our soup and salad arrived. Meanwhile, tables seated after us were already enjoying their entrées.
When our server finally brought our starters, she apologized and blamed the delay on a large party that had just left. However, it was clear that other tables were being served on time, which made the excuse feel hollow.
Adding to our disappointment, the restaurant’s owner made rounds to greet nearly every table, except ours. For a place that markets itself as upscale, this lack of basic hospitality was disheartening.
For the price point, the experience simply did not match the expectation. We left feeling disregarded and disappointed, and after sharing our experience with family and friends, many agreed that the restaurant’s quality and service have noticeably declined in recent years.
We won’t be returning, and I genuinely regret choosing this restaurant for our evening out.

To say this Italian restaurant is amazing is an understatement. The half-moon ravioli stuffed with Chianti-braised beef short rib in a brandy cream was absolutely outstanding. The red wine–braised duck with peanuts was equally unforgettable. And the tiramisu? Without question the best we’ve ever had. Between the unique menu, unbelievably delicious food, and our waiter’s outstanding service and personality, celebrating our 20th anniversary at Gamba’s made for a dinner we’ll never forget.
