Let me start with a confession: I’m not exactly a French food guy. Give me a burger or a plate of kabobs and I’m happy. That said, we took my sister-in-law out for her birthday and this was her pick, so off to Toni Café we went—with an open mind and an empty stomach.
We ordered the egg sandwich, blueberry lemon French toast, La Dinde, quiche, and a few almond croissants. First off, major props to the staff for being great about our son’s allergies. Super patient, helpful, and reassuring, which immediately earns points in my book.
The egg sandwich was decent, but it didn’t really stand out compared to everything else we ordered. The real star of the show was the blueberry lemon French toast. Crispy on the outside, fluffy like a pillow on the inside, and just sweet enough to make you forget all your other life responsibilities for a few minutes. The almond croissants were next-level. My wife and I split one and nearly turned it into a competitive sport over the last bite .
We didn’t personally try the quiche, but my sister-in-law gave it a thumbs up, so I’ll trust the birthday girl. I also had a honey lavender latte, which was decent, though I was hoping for more of that honey-lavender magic to come through.
All in all, even for someone who’s not big on French food, Toni Café won me over. Solid spot, great pastries, and definitely worth a visit.

I first tasted their cake at a birthday celebration and was genuinely impressed from the very first bite. Since then, this has become my go to place for every special occasion. The white buttermilk cake is incredibly flavorful and perfectly moist. Not only does it taste fantastic, but the presentation is always beautiful and thoughtfully done. Every order has exceeded my expectations.

Toni Patisserie did our wedding cake for us. It was both beautiful and delicious! We received so many compliments on the taste and the look of our cake from our guests. We leaned into a Christmas theme and Toni did an excellent job taking about three different inspiration photos and combining all into one stunning cake. Each cake tier was a different flavor and all three flavors were beyond tasty. Toni was easy to work with, responsive and it was a total stress free experience! They accommodated and worked with us on developing our flavors. Thank you so much for making our special day beautiful and tasty!!!

What’s good? Cake with raspberry coulis. A “fall back” birthday dessert. Toni’s is small and mighty when it comes to fresh pastry, sandwiches, cookies and cakes. Usually busy but does not feel crowded. They’ve sort of captured a slightly euro feel in suburban Chicago.

Toni’s is Hinsdale’s gem. They serve a delicious variety of foods from pastries to meals. I especially love their egg sandwich. Their potatoes are fabulous and oniony. There isn’t a bad item here and I definitely would come here for a great snack or meal!

I ordered a sandwich cold turkey and the bread was nice and crispy! Loved it, tastes like what my mom would make. The lemon bar was a bit eggy for my taste, but the tart, and cookies are definitely worth going back for. Be prepared to wait a bit if you go, seemed they were short staffed with only one person in the kitchen.

This was my first visit to the cafe. I absolutely love the decor and atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. They offered several choices for a savory snack or breakfast. My mother does not eat meat so she was excited to see a couple choices to choose from as well. The drink menu had many choices as well and my mother ordered a decaf coffee but worker said they did not have any brewed and instead of brewing some, one reason for the four stars, she offered her a decaf espresso. I ordered a blood orange Arnold Palmer. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant sandwich and my mother ordered an apple streusel. We both enjoyed our food and drinks. The other reason for four stars instead of five is that we received our drinks immediately but then sat and sat and sat waiting for our food items which I believe the lady taking a order forgot. I had to go back to the counter and asked her how do we get our food and she said oh I’ll get it for you. She then made two more drinks before bringing us two items that she just basically took out of the case and put in a bag. She didn’t even warm up the sandwich so I thought it was a little bizarre that she could not have just taken those two items out prior to that and gave them to us. So we actually sat for some time waiting for her to pull two items out of the case to hand them to us. I literally think she forgot our order and just didn’t remember to give them to us until I reminded her. Had I not, we probably wouldn’t have got them, so other than that our service was okay. If you’re in a hurry and there’s a line, probably not the best place to go. We were not in a hurry so the line wait was okay. It’s a cute place to meet for a drink or a quick breakfast. If you need to order a cake, or get a cookie or pastry gift this place would be nice for that as well.

I visited Toni’s based upon its great Google rating and it didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the Olive cake, White chocolate mousse cake, and LA DINDE made with Roasted Turkey, Avocado, Tomato, Red Onion & Seasonal Greens. The food is fresh. Highly recommend.
